There is a led light for the touchpad just above the touchpad. If it is amber in colour tap the button ju8st next to the light. you will see that the light will change in blue. if it has changed then it has unlocked and the touchpad will work fine.

How do you turn off the key pad when you are using a wireless mouse

Look closely at the top of the touchpad, there should be a small thin button that has a light near it. This deactivates and reactivates the touchpad when pressed.

My HP G60 touchpad will not turn off. When I press the button above it the orange light comes on but the touchpad stays on. It is also hypersensitive. Is there an adjustment for that?

To adjust the sensitivity go to your mouse settings in the control panel.

Start>Control Panel>Mouse

There should be a tab named "Tapping" or something similar that has a button labeled "touch sensitivity". That is where you can change settings for a hypersensitive pad.

As for the touchpad that wont turn off...
It sounds like you have either a faulty driver or an incorrect version.
I suggest you go to HP's site and locate the touchpad driver for your laptop model and install/update the one you are currently using.

Here is a link to HP's driver page for HP G60 HERE. But you will need to know the full model number which is located on the bottom of your notebook. (a little sticker that says "service tag")

I hope this helps.

My hp g60 cursor doesent move at all.

If the cursor doesn't move when using the touchpad, make sure the touchpad is turned on. There is a button right above the touchpad with five lit-up dots above it. If the dots are white, the touchpad is enabled -- if they are orange, the touchpad is turned off.

Hope that solves your problem!

Keyboard and touch pad will not work

The HP50 and HP60 laptops both have a lock button I just discovered by tripping over it today. Couldn't find a description of it in the printed or onboard manuals. This button is in addition to the overall computer lock function key (f6) that is well described. This keyboard/touchpad (k/t) lock button is obvious when pointed out, but less so when those items are already locked out by casual hand motion. The button is located just above the touchpad and is embedded in the border trim of the keypad. It toggles access to your k/t. It has a little indicator light so one doesn't miss it, but it is pretty low-key, if you forgive the pun. Designers can be a little too cool sometimes!
