Well speakers are speakers so to "Speak" ... As long as the INPUT connections are the same, then, there is NO reason why they should not work.

Make sure you have the audio drivers installed for your sound. They can be located here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=3440605&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&submit.y=7&submit.x=8&lang=en&cc=us

Depending on the operating system you have on that computer choose either vista or vista 64 bit.

Then after you get to the next page, where it says driver - audio download that driver and install it. Then the speakers should work.

Howdy, the speaker input on a Dell is often on the front and the back. It is usually the green one. The speakers from the HP should have no problem working on the dell; It doesn't care what brand of speaker it uses. Making the actual connection is only part of the deal, the mute could be on or volume turned all the way down.
If the speakers require external power, make sure they are plugged into a good outlet and turned on.

If you check all these things, and still have no sound, let me know and I will help figure out what to do next:)

The speakers can be used with the HP computer. The connection on the speaker set should look like the connector on a headset or headphones for an ipod. The connection for this can be located on the back of the computer near the location of where you plug in your monitor and keyboard. There also may be another location to plug this in at. If you had recently purchased this laptop, many manufacturers will put a connection the the front of the PC. Usually under a flap of some sort.

Speaker problem

Hi, Assuming that the speaker is plug in to the PC and power is also applied to the speaker - If the PC sounds comes out of the headset but not on the speakers, then the speakers are defective. Being new/recently bought, your best course of action would be to bring the unit back for replacement or at least the speakers since trying to repair it would void the warranty. Please remember to bring proof of purchase, warranty card or whatever document(s) are required for this sort of complaint. Good luck and kind regards.
