Wow, bad luck day. immediately flip the laptop upside down in an open position so the keyboard is flat on the table use some paper towel under the keyboard... more comments. to follow... do this immediately
I've repaired a few laptops with the same problem, check out this page on power jack repair. http://tinyurl.com/powerjackrepair Did it run out of power when you were using it, or did you go to use it one day and it wouldn't turn on? because I've know people spill stuff on the friends/family laptop and not tell them about it.
It is likely the only problem is that the soda is causing the keys to stick. There is probably no damage to any other internal components. Usually, laptop keyboards have a metal-based frame/tray that will protect the internal components from minor spills.
If you want to get rid of the cracking sound, you'll need to purchase a replacement keyboard from the laptop manufacturer or another source such as eBay, and then remove the sticky keyboard and replace it with the newly purchased one.
hey if you flip over the laptop you will see a long coverpiece about a inch or so wide about 4 inches long remove this cover and you will see a silver piece in there dirt and dust and bad things can get in between the fins of this and cause it to overheat if you can remove it clean it out the best you can and reinstall it and replace the cover piece now restart and see what happnes ok best of luck mike
