How many times does it blink in between each pause? This is diagnostic code that helps us figure out what the problem is. Please provide this info so that we can continue troubleshooting.

When the coolant spilled out did it get on the rest of the circuitry? How did you refill and seal the coolant tank and what did you use for coolant? I would need answers to these questions to be able to help you further. Did you unplug the set yet?

    Phillips is new to posting error codes on their sets.I encourage all manufacturers to do this but they need to supply the techs with what the codes mean. Sony and several others have done that and it is very helpful. I do not know what the blinks mean. I have searched the internet and cannot find an answer to the question. I would concentrate on the board which had the liquid spilled on it. It probably is the most likely area to have a short or a bad component. Look for resistors that have discolored. If you have the skills it may pay to check the power supply for correct voltages. Perhaps you have lost one of the voltages, or more. Check this out and get back to me.

I took the back of the tv off and the blue lamp is not bright like the red and green. Could this be a coolant problem or lamp. I have the PT5492S Akai rear projection TV.

The blue is usually dimmer than the other two lens; what I would suggest is try to look into the lens with the set on; BE CAREFUL AND NOT TOUCH ANYTHING INSIDE THE SET.

If the red and green show a picture but the blue looks like a floodlight you have bad Glycol in the blue tube (common in these sets).

If all have a normal picture remember to wipe the lens clean at the top; do not try to take the lens etc apart.

Before you rate this information let me know what you find.

I have a philips HD rear projection TV 60 in. inside there are six adjustment knobs. Three are color the other three are for brightness contrast and hue. Which is which Left to right

If yours is a rear projection TV the adjustment knobs on the focus block inside are screen (red, green, blue) and focus (red, green, blue). The ones you are referring to as color are the screen controls and they adjust the intensity of the color from each tube. The other set adjust the focus of each color. They are also not intended to be adjusted by the user. Unless major components have been changed these controls should not need adjustment. That is why they are inside the TV.

Do the air purge test below.

The fins/turbine on water pump can be totally worn out.

====

When the car is completely cool,check the electric fan(s) for smooth rotation.

Clean/check/change the thermo sensor,contact and wire.

===

Excavate air pocket in coolant system / check for head gasket leak

This test will kill two birds with one stone.

===

MAKE SURE THE COOLANT SYSTEM and ENGINE IS COLD!

RAN THIS TEST IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA ONLY!

You will spill some coolant during this air pocket purge test.......BE KIND TO THE ENVIRONMENT and ANIMAL please clean up after the test!

===

Put the front end on a pair of ramp or park your car on a VERY STEEP HILL (radiator facing top of the hill) .

Top of the coolant reserve tank

Let it ran for 10-15 minutes.

Monitor for air pockets escaping from coolant reserve tank.

Small amount of bubbles is OK at 1-5 minute mark

After the thermostat open up (after 195 F warm up) at
5-12 minute mark or after high idle you should see less bubbles.

If you do not see any in rush of bubbles then your thermostat may be partially stuck or rusted badly inside the thermostat hosing.

Give the thermostat host few gentle taps.

If you see larger bubbles surfacing after 15 minutes then should do a hydrocarbon (HC) dye test to test for potential head gasket leak.

Let engine cold down and top off coolant reserve tank.

Start monitor for coolant lost

===

A coolant flush is require every 2 years or 24,000 miles.

I recommend the thermostat that has a relief pop-let to reduce the change of burst radiator and coolant hoses.

Make sure you get a new thermostat gasket,black RTV and fresh coolant for the job.

Problem with Panasonic 47'' HD Projection TV MN: PT47WX53G

You can get a bottle of replacement CRT coolant at the following link. But the spilled coolant will need to be thoroughly cleaned use denatured alcohol and let dry thoroughly as the coolant is corrosive and will destroy the solder, Components and traces of all items affected if not thoroughly cleaned.Heres where to get the coolant for the CRTs.

Fluid Mold

yes it more than likely is related to the spill.
this model is famous for fluid leaks. each projector1.gif tube has a reservoir on the front of it with a fluid in it. this keeps the face of the tube cool.
this depends on how bad the damage is in the tv. in most cases we can reseal the tube and clean up the fluid 400-600.
Once you
take the tube out you will see where it leaked. The problem is that the
frame on the CRT that the heavy screws with springs are mounted on (that
hold the lens coupled to the CRT) is weak and they can bend. We have seen
several that have leaked after the customer moved the set. You can only
tighten them down so much because the frame bends. It is just stamped metal
and not welded at the corners to support the bend.

We remove the CRT, clean it all up, add a very small amount of RTV sealer to
the gasket, reassemble, let the RTV cure thoroughly and refill with coolant.
The extra sealer should prevent future leaks. Haven't had a recall yet.
Mits says replace the CRT...too costly.

You msut check the yokes carefully as well. If any coolant gets into them
you can end up with shorts there and a mess.

Clean the boards carefully and repair any corrosion damage. The coolant is
ethylene glycol and glycerine which is water soluable.
