    I have the exact same fridge and am experiencing the same problem. What should I do? There's no ice chunk over the thermostat. The fridge isn't ever on long enough to freeze anything.

    I have a HNSE05SS haier refridgerater it runs for about an hour and gets nice and cold. Once the compressor shuts down it won"t start up again unless I turn the control in the fridge or wiggle it . What is that part and I take it it"s bad

    Have any of you figured out the solution to this problem? It is NOT what EmgSupport proposed. It's simply a problem with having to reset it constantly. If any of you have had this thing fixed let me know what it was please. Thanks.

Is there a ice chunk underneath the little freezer at the top?

    If there is carefully defrost and remove the ice. The sensing bulb for the thermostat is clipped directly under the freezer plate. If there is ice there, it thinks the box is cold enough and keeps the compressor off.

Why is my smeg fridge not keeping anything cool

Hi...the same thing has happened to me. My Smeg Fab28 refrigerator compartment has stopped cooling. The freezer still works. There was a build up of ice on the back fridge wall, and the milk was freezing up, so I turned down the temp. After the ice melted, I heard a bang like a bunch of ice had dropped. I turned the temp back up but it steadily stopped cooling even more. I decided to defrost the freezer, and had the power off completely for about 5 hours. When I turned it back on, the freezer worked, but the fridge is not cooling AT ALL.

Did you fix the problem and if so, how?

Thank you
Bev

I have to keep the temperature turned up to 9 in order to keep the food at 45 degrees. The fridge is only 3 years old.

If it's the freezer control you keep at 9, it's probably a defrost problem. If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.
check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

If it's the fridge temp control you're talking about The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

It sounds like it may be the thermostat. turn it down to a normal level and give it a good tap to see if it starts. you may need to leave the door open so it warms up bit so it will start, it wont start if its cold as the thermostat would be satisfied. If it does start the thermostat should be replaced. I hope this helps

My LG B197WV has a problem with temp controls is min the lowest temp and max the highest temp or is max the max coldness? everything keeps freezing in the fridge and its set on 3 Help please

1 is the lowest setting. And if you want to make it really cold in your LG then turn it to the highest number. Might back off the fridge setting to 2. Do you have two t-stat's one for freezer and one for fresh food compartment?

Defy Fridge temperature dial is confusing - which way is colder?

0 = off, 1 = cool, 2 = cooler, ..... 7 = coldest.  0 - 7 Nothing to do with the degree the fridge is set to.
