First of all please make sure that you have uninstalled previous versions of itunes completely from your computer.Verify by going into My computer>open C drive> open Programs files> and delete the Itunes folder.
Next restart your pc and download and reinstall it again. If you get the same error code then proceed with the below instructions:

  1. Click the Start button download i tunes get a - 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png. In the Search box (if you have Windows XP then click on run) and then type Command Prompt, and then, in the list of results, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.
  2. In the command prompt window, type fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\. (This assumes that C: is the drive in which Windows Vista is installed. If Windows is installed on another drive, change the drive letter accordingly.)
  3. Restart your computer.
Then download and install the itunes again.

The above two solutions will fix the issue.

Thank you for using fixya.

As downloading Microsoft Security Essentials (windows 7) the downloading stops cause error 0x800736B3

Very common. Microsoft blame your internet service provider as it can be caused by the internet stopping and Essentials can't keep up with it and throws your system off.
Try downloading a registry cleaning utility, there is talk that that gives that error also.
I gave up and use Norton instead!

DirectSound test results: Failure at step 19 (User verification of software): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code)

Run the dell diagnostics on the sound card .
1. Restart your computer
2. tap on the f12 key slowly five times
3. select the option Boot to utility partision or diagnostics dell 32 bit diagnostics
5. Select customer test and test sound

If the test pass, try system restore , probably the problem is with the sound card drivers

if the sound test fails , shutdown the system again and remove the cmos battery and start the system without it once.Check sound again .

It sounds like you may need to Update the Drivers. If not you may have a Bad Sound Card.
