Agitator dogs are worn out. These are what grab the agitator and agitates the clothes. The dogs have fine teeth and are worn easily if the washer is overfilled or off balanced. The top of the agitator spins off, down inside at the bottom of the agitator, the bolt will come out and then the agitator can be lifted out. Here you will see the dogs. I included a picture of what they look like. Easily repaired and take 5-10 min to repair. The dogs are about $5
