Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

The bearings are worn out which makes for a lot of noise-is this a warranted part in the 1 year parts and labor .A service guy came out and looked at the refrigerator and said it was not a covered part. The part is being ordered and it will take 2-3 days from today to come in.

Hi, you did not say what part has bad bearings. You have the evaporator fan motor in the freezer, the condenser fan motor in the lower back and the compressor which also has valves and bearings. The only part That is covered in the years warranty is the compressor. You can buy an extended warranty for that for up to 4 years. The other motors I don't believe are covered at all, maybe in the first 30 days. That's not right I know, but that's how it works. They normally last for years?? Best of Luck, you may want to call the place you bought it from and talk to them about this motor. It is worth a try.
Sincerely,

Rear wheel bearings

Get a different shop to check all of the suspension components - if the struts both snapped, something is going on that's a much bigger concern than the wheel bearings. Look for bent control arms and other suspension components - check clearances and bushings everywhere in the rear, make sure nothing was installed backwards or forgotten. Struts don't just snap, and bearings should definitely not die every couple thousand miles. Also, have a dealer look at it, to make sure that things are installed properly. It won't be cheap there, but they might notice something that other shops routinely miss. I hate suggesting that ANYONE go to a dealership for service, but in this case, they're the most likely to notice something out of spec...

Our washer just started making loud popping noises while running. It still washes just fine

Some washing machines are made with hardened plastic parts instead of metal. You may have a plastic knuckle( used during the wash cycle to aggitate the items) that has worn a bit and needs replaced. I had the same issue with our Kenmore a few years back. The replacement knuckle was $100 plus tax. If you are handy with instructions and your hands it is something that can be done at home with the proper tools and time. I had no time to fix ours and the service charge cost $150.

Its like a horrible noise like its stuck i dont know how to explain the noise its not a clicking noise. its like a screaming noise and it really only does it when the weather is cold

Check out your hub on that side. If the wheel bearings are going out, it will make a noise as you describe. The wheel bearings and hub are a 1-piece assembly that is relatively easy to change, and doesn't cost a lot in parts. Stand in front of your vehicle a ways, directly in front of the wheel. Does it appear to lean in at the top? This would confirm that your bearings are worn really badly, but isn't always obvious.
The other part that can make noise in those conditions are the CV joint on that side, but it's usually a clicking noise when you turn really sharp, especially when in reverse.

Broken heat exchanger

Yes. DO NOT USE IT UNTIL IT IS FIXED! Carbon monoxide can kill you! Most manufactures will warrant their heat exchangers on 80% furnaces for twenty years. Some models only ten years.
Tubular heat exchangers are known to be very durable. If this went bad this fast the most common cause would be a faulty installation. The installer should have adjusted the gas pressure to assure proper firing of the burners. The air flow should have been adjusted according to that models rated temperature rise. And the flue pipe needed to have the proper rise, length, diameter and height to properly discharge the moist flue gases.
Get a new heating guy. Even though you have a heat exchanger warranty that will cover only parts, not labor. Unless your installer sold you a ten year parts and labor warranty. A contractor will probably charge you a flat fee of $300 -$400. or an hourly rate with trip charge and 1 1/2 - 4 hours labor. A good tech should be in and out of your home in 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
Good luck

Breaking at slow speed there is a bad bearing o scrunching noise.

This is a hub issues. the bearings are dry and i would get this looked at before they get to dry. i would also check the entire axle assembly as well. just too be safe. i suspect the bearings will need to be replaced. (repacked)

I have Hitachi 50vs69a abd it is 1 and a half years old, it has created a blue spot in middle of screen and yellow tint from the sides

I had a certified Hitachi service guy look at my tv and he said it was the light engine. Called Hitachi customer service and they were aware of issues with this part. They agreed to cover the part if I would pay for the labor. Labor cost me around $250. Hope this helps.
