Question about Hitachi UltraVision 55HDS69 55 in. Plasma TV
First make sure to hit the menu button on the TV's remote
and if nothing is there then friend while the set is on turn a bright
flashlight on and shine at angle into the set push the TV menu button if
you can see a image then your back light is not working.
Cost backlights around 150.00 and power supplies around 100.00. Well this should help you friend.

I have the same tv and had the same problem a few times. If you're behind the tv and looking at its boards (with the casing removed), you'll see a big board on the left that feeds into 2 other smaller boards left of that. The big board is called a Y sustain board, and the 2 little boards are called buffer boards. My bet is that one, two, or possibly all 3 of those boards has fried. Not sure how to check for the Y sustain board, but with the buffer boards, you can pull them out, and look at them to see if there are any brown spots underneath the chips on it. if you see brown spots on just one of the buffer boards, buy a new one. here are the part numbers for the buffer boards:jp52971 and jp52981 (i forget which is top and which is bottom). I don't know what the part number is for the Y sustain board. I can tell you right now, the Y sustain board is a lot more money, like $250ish, but the buffer boards are like $70ish each. good luck
