Hi,

Judging by you saying that it shuts off would suggests that it has power so the battery and charge is not an issue.

When you switch on the ds you should see one of the screens flicker on just before it powers back down.Which ever screen does not flash had a problem, the connection haseither come loose or the screen has developed a fault, in which caseyou will either have to send it away if its under warranty, take it toa local repair shop or replace the screen yourself.

Firstly whenyou take the ds apart disconnect the relevent screen and thenre-attatch it just to be sure if its the connection or not, if are-connection works then your sorted... if not you will have to replacethe screen.

The screens, both top and bottom can be bought fromebay. If its your top screen you will also have to do a bit ofsoldering as the speakers will need to be removed from the old screenand soldered onto the new one. If its the bottom screen you will needto carefully seperate the touch screen from the lcd screenmy nintendo ds shuts off everytime i turn it on - 2_bing.gif.

If you need any more help with changing the screens then give me a message and I will do my best to help you out.

If none of the screens flicker then get back to me and I will help you figure out whats going on.

Regards,
SOD69

Have you powered up you ds? it needs to be pluged into a wall outlet and be powered up.

If that doesn't work then your ds is defected. you can tell Nintendo the problem and they will either try to fix it or give you a new one

Hi there My DS Lite has started to turn itself off straight after being turned on and its fully charged. It has had a new battery and I have got a brand new charger and the DS lite when turned on, turns...

Hello there,
Unfortunately, something may be shorting out at the hinges causing the DS to shut down automatically. It is probably a ribbon cable damage. Try contacting Nintendo to try to get it fixed.
I hope this helps! Thumbs up are always welcome.

I can't save any progress on the Professor Layton nintendo ds lit

After clicking "save" make sure you wait until it's done saving. You should click save then wait a minimum 15 seconds. Put the DS down and check your fridge for some leftover noodles, come back and turn it off. You should never click "save" then turn off your DS moments later.

If it isn't that, then make sure you aren't accidentally shutting off during parts of the game where it autosaves.

Also, keep the game stored in a non-humid area that is fairly warm. It could be being read wrong.

Water came in contact of my ds. I am charging it now but everytime I try to turn it on it flashes and dies. What can I do to fix it?

You have to send the DS into Nintendo. Sorry, that's the only way to fix it. They can do the full fixing for $75 and replace the shell covering and screens, a total clean-up and they'll fix any other minor problems. Here is the link to order a fix-up for screens that came in cotact with water:
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/repair/dslite_repair_home.jsp
Click on where you're from, click on "System and Game Problems," then click on "Liquid spilled on system." You can either remove the battery and let it dry out, get a new battery, or send the DS into Nintendo if more then the battery got wet.
Hope this helps.

My new crimson black nintendo ds keep blanking off.

If you bought it from a reputable retailer then you should be returning it to them as unfit for purpose. If not then find your receipt and look up the repairs centre for Nintendo as there's a years warranty on all new DS's.

Something is most likely wrong with a connection to the top screen. It's going to need to be diagnosed and repaired. Don't waste your time buying a new battery or ac adapter which is a trial solution that alot of people seem to hope will work.
