You can add a monitor connecting it to VGA output, similar to that of any desktop computer. Some laptops have HDMI outlet.too.
You can replace ba bad monitos though they are quite expensive. Recently a friend replace a screen for his HP for about 100 USD! though maybe you can get a cheaper one.
Just FYI, if you get same screen problem with an exterrnal monitor, your problem is the videocard.

actually type in google the model and make of the screen it will bring up several websites that sell screens but they also have step by step instructions with video how to replace ....thats easier than me spending two hours typing in all the words how to do it and hey pictures are worth a thousand words for the 1st time doing things
