To create this animtion, follow these steps:

  1. Insert a text box from the Drawing toolbar (in PowerPoint 2007, go to Insert tab> Text Box), and type your text. Center justify itthe text by clicking Center on the Formatting toolbar. (In PowerPoint 2007, right-click the text box and choose Center from the mini toolbar.)
  2. Click the text box's outline and copy it to the Clipboard. Paste it two times onto the slide.
  3. Drag the three text boxes apart from each other. Eventually, you'll place them on top of each other, but it's much easier to select them when they're separated. Notice that I have a plain white slide and one word.
  4. Change the properties of the text to create variations. I used 96, 72, and 48 point text, with light gray, dark gray, and black colors. Of course, if you want a different effect, you can do something different.

  1. Choose Slide Show > Custom Animation (in PowerPoint 2007, Animations tab> Custom Animation) to display the Custom Animation task pane.
  2. Select the first text box and choose Add Effect> Entrance> Fade. (If you don't see the Fade animation, click More Effects to find it.) Set the Speed to fast. Leave the Start as On Click (the default).
  3. Select the second text box and choose Add Effect> Entrance> Fade. Again set the Speed to fast, but this time set the Start to After Previous.
  4. As soon as the second text box comes in, you want the first one to fade out. So select the first text box again, and choose Add Effect> Exit> Fade. (You may need to choose More Effects to find it.) Set the Speed to Very Fast and the Start to After Previous. (I discovered by trial and error that I wanted the Speed set to Very Fast; otherwise, you wait too long for the third text box to come in.)
  5. Next, you want the third text box to fade in so select it and choose Add Effect> Entrance> Fade. Set the Start to After Previous and the Speed to Very Fast.
  6. Finally, you want the second text box to fade out, leaving just the third text box. Select it, and choose Add Effect> Exit> Fade. Set the Start to After Previous and the Speed to Fast.
Note: You can always change the order of your animations by selecting an item in the Custom Animation task pane and dragging it to a new location or using the Re-order buttons at the bottom.
  1. Save your work and test the animation to see what it looks like. Either go into slide show view or click the Play button in the task pane.
  2. To center the three text boxes on top of each other, select all three text boxes. From the Draw toolbar, choose Draw> Align or Distribute> Relative to Slide. (In PowerPoint 2007, choose Format tab> Arrange group> Align drop-down list> Align to Slide.)
  3. Now choose Draw> Align or Distribute> Align Center. (In PowerPoint 2007, choose Format tab> Arrange group> Align drop-down list> Align Center.)
  4. Choose Draw> Align or Distribute> Align Middle. (In PowerPoint 2007, choose Format tab> Arrange group> Align drop-down list> Align Middle.)
Save and try out your animation!
Fade in variations of text, one on top of the other plus magnify
You can add another animation to your objects to increase the intensity of the animation. For example, try adding a Magnify entrance effect to all three text boxes. Set the speed the same as the Fade In animation and place the animation in the task pane right after the Fade In. Set the Start to With Previous. You can see how it looks.

Typewriter text
You can make text appear letter by letter; to add to the effect, you can add a typewriter sound. You can see the animation here. Sorry, I couldn't include the sound.

Follow these steps:
  1. Add a text box from the Drawing toolbar (in PowerPoint 2007, go to Insert tab> Text Box), and type the text.
  2. Select the text box.
  3. On the Custom Animation task pane, choose Add Effect > Entrance > Appear.
  4. Click the animation item in the task pane. Click the down arrow and choose Effect Options.
  5. On the Effect tab, choose By Letter from the Animate Text drop-down list.
  6. Set the delay between letters. I chose 0.3 seconds.
  7. From the Sound drop-down list, choose Typewriter and click OK.

Try the animation. I had the following problem -- there was no clicking sound for the last letter. That might not bother you, but it bothered me. I solved the problem by adding another letter at the end of the word and making it the same color as the background (so that it was invisible). This worked!

How do you create animation in word 2007


Hello,


You normally can't "create" animation in MS Word, however, you INSERT an animated picture file into your document. Here are the steps below to insert an animated clip art image into your document:


  • Place the insertion point in your document where you'd like to have the animated graphic appear.
  • Click on the INSERT Group Tab located at the top of the screen.
  • Choose ClipArt (Note: if you have an animation file present on your computer, then you would select INSERT PICTURE)

  • In the Clip Art Gallery, make sure that in the SEARCH IN: box that you have ALL COLLECTIONS chosen.
  • Then in the RESULTS SHOULD BE: box select only MOVIES.

After you insert the graphic into Word, you may not see the animation until you save it as a Web Page and then Open it in your Internet Browser.

Music in power point presentations


  1. Display the slide to which you want to add music or sound effects.
  2. On the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, and then do one of the following:

  1. Double-click the sound file that you want to insert.
  2. When a message is displayed, do one of the following:
    • To play the music or sound automatically when you go to the slide, clickAutomatically.

  3. To adjust the settings for when the sound file stops, click the sound icon za006052183.gif, right-click, and then click Custom Animation.
  4. In the Custom Animation task pane, click the arrow on the selected item in the Custom Animation list, and then click Effect Options.

I want to use the power point with animation for presentations.


If you are using MS Office 2007, then I assume you are already familiar with the ribbons and tabs included. To use animations for your presentations, you can apply for one or all slides. Also you apply animation to certain objects on a specific slide.

On the top, you will find the "Animations" tab. You will find pre-set transitions for the slide.

You can apply to a particular slide, or to all slides by click on "Apply to all" button found next to the transitions on the right-side. You can also select the speed and sound of the transition. On the left-side of the pre-set transitions, you will see the "Animations" settings group.

If you click, for example a text box, The "Animate" feature will be enabled and you can select the animation you want, i.e. fade, wipe, fly in, etc.

I have added a snapshot of the drawing tool at the end of this post.

How can I add a .wav file to an entire PowerPoint slideshow? I only know how to add sound to a single slide and want the file to play through the entire presentation. Thanks in advance for your help.


Since you have not mention the power point version that you are currently using I give you the method to embed sound in your entire slide show for both PowerPoint 2003 and PowerPoint 2007.

Lets start with PowerPoint 2003 : Go to the slide where you want to initiate the sound track in .wav form.(1st slide is the default).

Go to Insert> Movies and Sound> Sound from file
Select your .wav sound file and click ok.
After you click OK you will se a dialogue box appearing asking you "How do you want the sound to play". You have to specify that. If you are not sure select "Automatically" so when you land on that slide during the slide show your music or sound will start automatically.

Select Slide Show ->Custom Animation to enter the Custom Animation pane. Confirm Your soundtrack is listed below in the pane.
  • In the drop-down list of the sound, choose Effect Options. Then the Play Sound interface appears. In the Effect tab, click the radio button beside Stop Playing After XXX slides (which indicates how many slides you want this song to play across) to enter the number of slides you intend to add. For example, you can enter a number from 1 to 999 for this field. Then the sound will play throughout the specified slides.
  • Next, check the settings in the Timing tab. To play automatically, you can set to Start After Previous with a 0-second delay. Click OK to exit the dialog box.

  • Then go to Sound Settings tab, adjust the sound volume as you like. You can also tick to hide sound icon during slide show if you don't want it appear.
Now your sound will play from the first slide till the last.

Life is much much easier with PowerPoint 2007
  • On the slide, click Insert to pick the Sound drop-down list on the very right below the tab. Select Sound from File in the list and choose the specified sound track from your hard drive.
  • Click OK and a message prompts, saying How do you want the sound to start in the slide show? Click Automatically.
  • Now click the sound icon to display the Options tab. Click on the tab, and set Play across slides for Play Sound.

At the moment, it is time for you to play the entire slide show while enjoying this pleasant sound score.
NOTE:
  • The sound you insert must be as long as your slide show. That is, if the slide show lasts 5 minutes, your soundtrack should also be at that length. Otherwise, the sound would be cut off until the slide show ends.
  • It is highly recommend that you take PowerPoint 2007 for your convenience.

How to insert video in the PowerPoint 2003?


Insert a movie and play it automatically
In PowerPoint 2003, you can run your movies full screen. This is a very excellent feature.
  • On the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, and then click Movie from File.
  • Click the video you want to use and then click OK.
  • Tips: Always put the movie in the same folder as your PowerPoint presentation. If you later move the PowerPoint presentation to another computer, copy the movie too. Keeping your movie in the same folder as your presentation ensures the link will still work. However, you should always test the movie on a new machine just to be certain. Re-insert the movie, if necessary.
  • After you click OK, you' are promoted with a message asking how you want the movie to start in the slide show.

    I recommend choosing Automatically even if you want the movie to play when clicked- I will talk about how to set this part too. (If you choose when clicked you have to click the black box to start the movie. Because I don't like to show the black box on the slide, I do this a little differently.)

  • You should now have a small rectangle sitting on your slide.

  • Insert a movie using a file on your computer or in another location, such as a server.
  • The movie appears as a still frame on your slide.
  • The trick I use is to move that rectangle off the slide, so it is sitting next to it, but not on it. You can size it down if you like. Click the movie (that is, the rectangle) and then drag it off the slide.

    Play the movie full screen
  • Right-click the movie object (the small rectangle) and on the shortcut menu, click Edit Movie Object.
  • The Movie Options dialog box appears. Under Display Options, select the Zoom to full screen check box, and then click OK.

  • If you want your movie to play automatically when you advance to this slide, you can stop here.
Test this now to see how it workd by starting the slide show. (On the Slide Show menu, click View Show.) Advance to the slide with the movie, (best if you have the title of the movie on it). Within a couple of seconds, the movie starts to play full screen. When the movie finishes, you return to the same slide (but no unsightly box appears). Click to advance to your next slide.

Add an On Click effect to start the movie
If you prefer, you can click to start the movie. This requires one more step, setting an On Click animation effect.
1. On the Slide Show menu, click Custom Animation. The Custom Animation task pane appears on the right side of the PowerPoint window.

2. Click the movie object (the rectangle) to select it.

3. In the Custom Animation task pane, click Add Effect, point to Entrance and then click Appear.

You have added an On Click effect. The animation effect you added is the one with the Green star next to it and a gray rectangle around it. If it doesn't have a gray rectangle, click it to select it. Your Custom Animation task pane should look like the picture below (except with the name of your movie in the list).

4. The last step is to move that animation up to the top of the effects list.
To do this, make sure the animation effect is selected, and then click the Up Re-order arrow at the bottom of the Custom Animation task pane. Or simply click and drag the animation effect to the top of the effects list.

5. Your effects list should now look like this:

6. You are done. Test this to make sure it works by starting the slide show.
(On the Slide Show menu, click View Show.) When you advance to the slide with the movie, you should not see the movie. When you click the slide, the movie zooms to full screen and plays. When it finishes playing, you are returned to the same slide. Click to advance to the next slide.

I need to have a mirror image of text in power point .


If you are using PowerPoint 2007, here is how you can accomplish this:
Select the text, Then right click and select Format Shape, Then select 3-D Rotation, then change the X value to 190 degrees.
In PowerPoint 2003, you can't create mirrored text,, you can however use WordArtto create a graphic image of text that you can mirror by using the Rotate or Flip command.
To create mirrored text with WordArt, follow these steps:
  1. On the Drawing toolbar, click Insert WordArt.
  2. In the WordArt Gallery, select the WordArt style that is closest to the effect that you want to use, and then click OK.
  3. In the Edit WordArt Text dialog box, type the text that you want.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Use the tools on the Drawing and WordArt toolbars to format the text the way that you want.
  6. On the Drawing toolbar, click Draw, point to Rotate Or Flip, and then click Flip Horizontal.
You will see a mirror image of your text.

Adding music to a powerpoint presentation


Does the music file play when you click on it? (Drag the sound icon someplace visible on your slide and preview it.)

If it does play when you click on it, you just need to animate the music. The sound file has to be a part of your slide animation--that's what tells it when to start/stop playing. When you insert a sound file, PPT may ask you whether you want it to start automatically or wait to be clicked.

Or, you can right-click an existing sound file and go CUSTOM ANIMATION. Depending on your version of PPT, what happens next will be different. But you should be able to set the sound file to play when the slide displays without being clicked.
