Re: virtual memory low
Every computer has a limited amount of RAM memory in it. This is one or more chips that are used by the computer to run the programs and data files you are actually using at any moment. buying memory is good solution.

You simply cant. If your graphics card isn't up to par to play vice city its probably very old or nonexistant. Only thing you can do is upgrade your video card (to play vice city the cost would be very inespensive). The requirements for a graphics card in order to play just this game shouldnt have to be any larger than 256 mb. If you have anymore questions you can just shoot me a message.
Your laptop is under power to run these games. The only solution to this is, either upgrading few of the component, Since this is a laptop, I doubt you can upgrade the video card, and you may need to find a higher performace laptop or a desktop to run the games. Remember game min. recommemation is only for a desktop, and with laptop even with some of the same spec, laptop hardware underperform with desktop hardware always!
Your using Windows OS 7, which is fairly new. This is great for programs but not for games. Heroes 4 is a older game, so there are some compadablility problems.
As for your memory and HD space you should be fine since the requirements are low.
Solutions: Look for programs which allows you to run virtual OS of pervious generations of windows (such as windows xp). This should solve your problem. Otherwise if you have 2 HDD on your laptop/computer you can make one drive into a older OS. Then run the game from that HD.
Virtual Memory (or Paging File) is controlled on your computer and is actually space on your hard drive. In windows XP, go to START, right click My Computer and select Properties. Under the Hardware Tab, select Settings under Performance. In the Advanced Tab, under Virtual Memory, select Change. Set the Paging File Size to "System Managed". Click Set>OK>OK>OK.
This error should go away now, unless your hard drive is getting full. Check to make sure that you have at least 25% free space on the hard drive where the Paging File is set up.
Did this solve your problem? If so, please rate this. ty.
You can try using another media player. If that does'nt work ,your DVD drive may be bad or need cleaning.Sometimes a bad ram chip can cause the video to mess up.Try playing a movie directly from your HDD downloaded from a website and see if its choppy if its not then its your DVD drive. If it is still choppy it could be the media player your using or it does'nt have enough ram memory/virtual memory. If you have XP change your virtual memory settings and the refresh rate in task manager.(Bring up task manager,go to view tab then update speed to HIGH).
fairly normal occurrence but you should have a look at your performance settings
go to control panel
double click system icon
click the advanced tab at the top
by performance click settings
in pop up window click advanced tab
at the bottom you'll see virtual memory
most common option now is to set the radio button to system managed size
you should then ok each window.....
In Windows XP 1.Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 2.Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. 3.On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings. 4.On the Advanced tab, under Virtual memory, click Change. 5.Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file that you want to change. 6.Under Paging file size for selected drive, click to Custom size
check box. You can enter the amount of memory you would like to reserve
for Virtual memory by entering the initial and maximum size. 7.Click Set When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
You better try to increase the virtual memory of your system as seems you would nt be able to increase the pre allocated video memory to your video device.
The virtual thing you can do by going to the my computer's properties and then in advanced tab you find performance options .Here you can tweak your virtual memory accg to your systtem memory
