Maytag electric oven Model MER5755QAQ will not heat past 100

Maytag electric oven Model MER5755QAQ will not heat. I can hear the a "click" noise in the board like a thermostat but then after several seconds it shuts off. The Broil element is warm to touch the bake element is cold. When I plug the oven in, it displays the number "50" in the display then reverts to current time.
Thanks

Sorry to say but the erc or eoc has gone bad. The oven control is part # 74009212 at about 200.00. Sorry for the news but it is the problem. Hope this has helped.

Maytag Oven model MER5755QAQ has lock on the display and the oven will not operate.

If one of the position switches on the latch assembly is not reading, the control will sometimes lock because it "thinks" a clean cycle has been initiated, if replacing the control did not fix the lock icon, test the switch... Incorrect temp probe and thermostat failures can also make a control "think" it is in a clean cycle. Replacing control board

There are two screews onder the shield. You need to get level with the shield to see them. Remove the two screews and it should come off no problem. Now to get in to the controll panel you have to pull the oven out and there are two screews on the back in both top corners to get in side to the control board. Good luck

Too hot

more than likely if it isnt shutting off when it reaches temp. then it probably needs a temp sensor or a EOC (electronic oven control). I have replaced many of these boards in the past , usually there is a relay on the board that is stuck. The relay really isn't replaceable and the whole board needs to be replaced. Does the dispay show the temp that the oven acually is or the temp it is set for?

Hello ppeaches,
Are you sure that the oven isn't heating up more than 100 degrees or are you basing the problem on the ovens readback of 100 degrees? If it truly isn't heating more than 100 degrees then anything inside there should be hot but not so hot as that it can't be touched. Have you tried to cook anything in there? My intent to assist in diagnosing the problem is to determine if it is a control based or read back based issue? Try cooking something that requires at least a 350 degree temp and get back to me on what happens... We;ll get you running after that,,,,,
