I.5 (H and L) from lightly seated is a good starting point. Then tune for performance like this:
Carburetor Adjustment by Madsens.com
http://www.madsens1.com/saw%20carb%20tune.htm
CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.
Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.

There are 2 wav (sound - idle & full – may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too.

Bought new carb for ryobi blower need to set up carby so it will start

Set both the high and low mixture settings two full turns back from the closed setting(full clockwise).. Set idle speed for all ahead full.

Start sucker and after a warmup throttle it down and then start adjusting the low mixture screw for fastest idle. Then lower idle some more but not to point where it starts to run rough. Then rev the sucker to high speed and adjust the high mixture for max speed. You may have to make a slight adjustment on the high speed to get a smooth transition from low speed to high.

What is the factory setting for lowand high screws on 25cc craftsman blower

If the two screws are side by side, one is the high speed mixture screw and the other is the low speed mixture screw. To set the high and low adjustment screws, tighten the screws in until they stop, don't force the screw after it stops. Back each screw out 1 1/2 turns. The engine will start and run here if everything else is ok. Fine tune each adjustment screw by closing the screw off (CW) until the engine runs rough. Back the screw out (CCW) until the engine smooths out. Run the engine at full speed and adjust the high screw. Let off the trigger and adjust the low screw. Once the mixture screws are adjusted, you can turn the idle screw to adjust the idle speed. It can take some time getting it all adjusted.

On small 1985 14 inch craftsman chansaw what is the high and low settings set on the carb

Not knowing the model, you can always look on the body of the carburetor, there should be an "H" for the high speed mixture screw and an "L" for the low speed or idle mixture screw. Both screws should be set initially 1 to 1 1/2 turns out from seat and then the carb. will have to be fine tuned from there. The high speed screw is adjusted when the throttle is in fast position, at 1 1/2 turns out you should have a slightly rich mixture so you may need to slowly turn it in until you hear the saw's rpms start to increase. You want to find a medium point between too rich and too lean. The low speed or idle mixture screw is set the same way just at idle rpm instead of full throttle, find a medium between too rich and too lean. You should be able to throttle form idle to wide open without any "lag" or "stumbling". You can also offset any rpm change at idle with the idle speed screw (not to be confused with the idle mixture screw). Hope this helps.

I have a Toro 524 with Tecumseh engine, model 38040 8 0000640. I am rebuilding the carb and would like to know what are basic settings for idle and hi/low speed screws?

The high speed mixture screw is initially set at 1 & 1/2 turns out. Then adjust it to give good acceleration and top speed, while not closing the screw more than you need to. The low speed mixture screw is set at 3/4 of a turn out. Adjust that, to give a smooth idle. The 3rd screw, the idle speed screw, is set to give a low idle speed without stalling.

NEED TO SET IDLE SCREW AND MIX SCREW ON A GAS LEAF BLOWER

Hello,

The Idle screw should just touch the throttle lever to start, the low speed should be set at 1 to 1.5 turns out from lightly seated, and the high speed should be set the same. Final adjustments are made only after it has been warmed up. If you adjust before 2 minutes of use the mixture will be too rich.

Hope this helps

Does the pilot screw alter the air intake on the Carburetor of a gsxr 750 slingshot 1988 model

Certainly you best adjust these screws with a vacume gauge set connected and set them all the same as the gauges dictate as the number of turns out is just where you start. The sync needs to be set first with the idel turned up too high when it's right turn the isel back down and check again as the idel is low nows the time to correct differences with the idel mixture screws. As the idel mixture is always on they effect the total mixture at all enf=gine speeds but lesser so at high speeds only noticeable at the gas pump carefully cheaking

Hi, I have a Poulan Model 1800 and previous owner has messed with air and gas mixture adjustments. I can fire it up and run it full throttle but it dies out at low speeds - idle adjustment makes no...

The default setting for the H and L carburetor jet is usually to turn them in all the way till they stop and back them out a turn and a half. You need to set the mixtures for the carburetor. You will find a Low and High adjustment screw. turn the low adjustment screw out. You will notice that the rpms should start increasing. keep turning it out until the rpms start to drop then turn it back in a quarter of a turn. You may need to readjust the idle speed so the chain doesn't turn during idle. Do the same for the high adjustment screw.

My gas trimmer settings for proper fuel, air mixture is messed up, do I tighten all the way up and back off two turns? can't seem to find the right settings. There's two screws, one left one right?...

The screw closest the carb is the low speed adjustment, the outer screw is the high speed adjustment. Start with both screws one turn out and go from there. Hope that helps. Dwain
