Question about HP OfficeJet G85 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I just picked up an HP OfficeJet G85 from a friend. The unit is in good shape, and has only one problem that I have found so far, that problem being that the tri-color cartridge is either being recognized as an incorrect type, or not being recognized at all. The display window reads either "Error: Incorrect color cartridge installed" or "Insert color cartridge". I have not yet tried replacing the color cartridge.
The cartridge I am using is an HP78, which I know is the correct model. Outside of replacing the cartridge, which I will be doing in a couple of days, do you have any suggestions I can try to narrow down where the trouble may lie?
If its not recognizing the cartridge you probably need to go inside and clean the contacts. Best thing to use is ordinary rubbing alcohol but you should also get a can of dry air from best buy or similar place to blow out any areas you can reach.
