Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Mine didn't recognize either, so what I did is go into the device manager, find the opal in the listings, double-click, disabled the device, re-enabled it, at which time it shows that there's a firmware error. I then re-installed the driver from the cd, unplugged the opal, plugged it back in, and for whatever reason, the computer then recognized the opal as a mass storage device, instead of a portable music player. The computer now sees it everytime, and all I have to do is drag and drop any files I want into the opal. Works like a charm. Hopefully RCA will provide an updated firmware program in the near future, but this might work for you for now. Good luck!

SOURCE: Connection

the samsung vp-d371 camcorder is not connect with dv firewire.
you have to purchase dv firewire cable 4pin to 6pin and also purchase pci firewire adapter IEEE 1394
and first install your firewire adapter and then plug in your camcorder to computer and on your camcorder and open the Windows Movie Make software and than you can capture from the WMM

i have already try it working on my camcorder.

Turn your player on and go to settings. Scroll down the menu until you see "PROTOCOL" and switch it from MSC to MTP. Your computer will now recognize your device, and you will be able to add whatever you want to it.

What do I do if the software on the recorder has been erased and I cannot retrieve the recordered infor from my PC.

If you insert the vr5220 into the computer USB port, it will reinstall the RCA Digital Voice Manager for you. If it does not, you can search on VR5220 for a download location http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/audio/voicerecorders/?sku=VR5220

at the bottom of the page is a Download tab which has the DVM, download and do the reinstall

Hi neither of my computers is recognizing my voice recorder. My laptop has xp and I have used it before, but now its not working. I thought it may have been a prob with my new desk top since I have windows...

Your best bet is to play the recordings through the headphone connector to a pc audio line-in connector and capture the audio using something like Audacity. Then output them using audacity to mp3 to play on your mp3 player.

These units are notorious for their failing USB feature.

I have about 10 interviews on my recorder. It recorded fine, but when I plugged it into my computer it says I need to format it. Is there anyway to get this information off of here, even if I have to...

DO NOT format the recorder. That will wipe it clean. The computer does not recognize the device. There must be a piece of software needed to allow the computer to recognize it. If you have an old pc forget it. Dont know about macs.
