Question about Direct Source Distributing ViewSonic A70 (White) 17 in.CRT Conventional Monitor

1 Answer

My viewsonic A70 is dim, i turned up brightness and contrast to the max. Still seems dim. Brightness software doesnt seem to phase it. I was going to take it apart and see if there was a burnt backlight. How do i check this? Could it be something else?

Sounds like the CRT is going bad itself, if thats the case then the monitor is done. But you could open it up and see if you can find any puffy capacitors.

Normal capacitors have a flat silver top on them. Puffy capacitors have a silver top that sticks up. If you find any of these then go ahead and replace them with ones of the same UF rating and at least the same voltage or more.

I have this TV. Just pulled it out of the box. Never been used before. It goes from bright to dim every half second and is getting faster. Picture is clear. Brightness giving a headache. What do? I'm

Go into your menu and check the options in brightness, and put down brightness and contrast, if that doesnt work the problem may be your computer.

Auto-dimming problem

It depends of the set--may have a light sensor built in and if so when light in the room changes the brightness on the TV and contrast will vary.

Put lights on picture brightens put lights off picture dims

Go to the menu, then select PICTURE or something similar. Then turn off "dynamic" or "automatic" on screen brightness.

The dynamic helps you save energy and always looks about the same contrast ratio. without, it seems too bright in the dark. It is actually a feature of higher priced televisions.

Hitachi 50V710 The picture is dim, then the bulb went out. I replaced the bulb. all works but the picture is still dim. You can barely see the screen durring the day. And can only use it in a dark room...

I've seen this in two scenarios.

First: The housing of the bulb is dirty (the lens the bulb lights onto) and the internal screen is dirty also.

The second: The bulb is wired reversely of the proper way to wire it. This will light the bulb, but will not light as bright as when it is wired correctly!

Hi, I have an iPhone 3G 8GB and the screen seems to be too bright. Is there a Contrast application available somewhere that I can use to cancel the effects of the brightness? Thanks, J.

The iPhone has its own brightness control. You just need to adjust it to your preferred brightness. Go to Settings> Brightness
From there, you can adjust the brightness to your preference.

I am using a Viewsonic VX2235WM monitor for photo editing

Hi!

Its actually normal. That normally happens to some monitor models at the 6500K setting. Try a higher one.

I hope this helps.

hi..first check it out the brightness. It is available in the
menu button, available on the top of the tv.If it still doesnt
work Projection TVs have a high intensity lamp as the light
source. They wear out and gradually get dim.You probably
