Do not overfill your reservoir tank!

Scheck see if your fan is running regularly and strong. If it's not, then cooling won't happen and it will shoot water every time.

Water pumps can also cause such problems in when they fail.

Over heat n due to non circulation of coolant into radeator

You may have a leaking engine head gasket or a clogged radiator. Do not drive this until the problem is repaired or you will do serious damage to the engine.

bleed the air from cooling system. and make sure its full of coolant. replace thermostat if need be. good-day ! if above fails replace coolant reservoir cap, it may not be releasing pressure as need be. and its over heating. just remove cap and start car to see if it over heats. if it still does, repair as above. and be sure the cooling fans are working. but an improper seal of the radiator cap or pressure malfunction of the cap is an easy (and cheap) source to check first. If the pressure in the radiator is not high enough, the fluid will boil at a lower point and the resulting steam cannot flow through the cooling system.

My 2008 Mercedes 350 is having heat problems ,,the engine heat meter is above the middle but not in the red zone though is that ok? the car is currently running 44000 miles

Check and make sure that the coolant reservoir cap is not leaking, this cause the cooling system pressure lost. Most european cars uses closed coolant system. Have the cap tested and it should hold the required pressure of around 16psi. Also be sure that all air pockets are dispelled.

Sounds like a head gasket to me. if you go thru that much water in two days you should be seeing white smoke out the exhaust system.
Good luck

Coolent light and check engine light

Your thermostat will not affect the heat in your car. This is controlled by the heater core which is pulled from coolant from the engine where the coolant will be the hottest. Your thermostat opens and allows the coolant from the engine to circulate into the radiator and the coolant from the radiator flow into the engine. A thermostat is cheap and easy to replace. The sensor should be a fairly inexpensive and easy replacement as well. I would change out the sensor first because bad thermostat would create an overheating problem.
