Most modern home PCs & laptops built in the last 4 years or so have a separate section of the hard drive loaded with the software to reinstall the system. It requires pushing a key or keys in a special sequence during start up. As this is different between PC brands, consult the support site of the PC manufacturer or the if it came with paper documentation, it may be in that.

If the internal hard drive has failed then you won't be able to access the section containing the reinstall software. I this case the manufacturer can provide you with reinstall disks for a nominal price. Replace the bad hard drive. Many manufactures will require the model of the system and serial number as the reinstall disk is specific to that particular model. Failure to provide this information may cause the reinstall process to fail.

PLEASE NOTE: Running an installation on a system will cause all data on the drive to be wiped. Make sure to back up or recover data prior to any reinstallation. Data is things such as documents, pictures, save files, email and the things PC users generate during the use of the PC.

V3-531 reboot without disk

You don't need disks to reboot. Just click "Turn off computer" under the start menu, and then click "Reboot". If that doesn't work, hold down the power button. After ten seconds or so, your computer will shut off, and you can restart it again simply by pressing the power button again.

My Acer 5315 is crashed. can't reboot. I need a Recovery Disk of Window vista home edition 32 bit. Please help.

TRY UNPLUGGING YOUR COMPUTER AND PLUGGING IT BACK IN...THIS SHOULD REBOOT...

WHEN IT DOES COME BACK ON...HOLD THE CTRL BUTTON DOWN UPON STARTING, SO TO GO INTO SAFE MODE...

THEN DO A SYSTEM RESTORE TO A PREVIOUS POINT THAT YOUR COMPUTER WAS WORKING PROPERLY,

AND PLEASE...CREATE A BACK-UP DISK!

LET ME KNOW..IF I CAN BE OF FURTHER ASSISTANCE...AND DON'T FORGET TO RATE ME!

KIND REGARDS!

Need help on getting a reboot disk?

If you mean a restore disk, you will have to contact the manufacturer and purchase the restore disk. restore disk will restore your computer back to factory settings (brand new out of the box) I do not know what a reboot disk is. I hope this helps.

My wifes hp dv9000 laptop will boot up and go to the desktop, 30 sec. later it shuts off, then reboots. It started doing this after we used a hp recovery disk. Her computer crashed on her overnight and hp...

You will need to do more trouble shooting. If you can, boot into safe mode and see if system reboots. If it does boot into the bios and see if it reboots there.

If system reboots in all modes then you have a hardware problem and will need to be serviced. However if it does not reboot in the bios then there is a good chance that some part of your windows system is corrupted.

If you find this helpful please rate so.

Thanks

I cannot get my gateway gt5028 to reboot,, i have no disc,, people tell me yiu can reboot and get computer back to normal without one,, help!!

there are 2 things about reboot that is the reboot from the bios or reboot from the windows... if you mean you can't reboot and there are no hard disk as your primary hard disk try to check if the bios detected the hard disk. by pressing Delete key when you start to reboot the computer... make sure there are someone with you who knows something about the computer BIOS. if not keep in touch.. in Main menu in BIOS you will find If the computer detected the hard disk, if not detected try to check the IDE/SATA cable or Power Cable of your hard disk. Check if that hard disk is the first boot in the Boot section of the BIOS, if not then change the Hard Disk as your first boot.. That will help you boot your computer properly in windows..

From the Start Menu, Select Control Panel. Else, from the Start Menu, select Setting and then Control Panel.

Select Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel. When the list of programs is populated, you should be able to see the program.

Then click on Change or Remove to uninstall the program. Once the reboot is done, it's ALWAYS a good idea to reboot the computer.

Hope this helps :) Kindly leave a feedback. Thank..
