I have a frigidaire ples389dcc as soon as i plug it in it give me a pf code

Good Morning Paul, thank you for your post!

Based off what you have described your Frigidaire range, PLES389DCC, is providing you with an error code of "PF" and "F1" as soon as you turn it on. An error code of "PF" stands for power failure this could be a possible problem with your control panel or power cord.

The error code "F1" stands for a runaway temperature (overheating). This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by disconnecting from your oven for ten minutes. If you continue to have issues with the "F1" error code I would recommend having a professional technician out to your home for proper diagnosis and replacement of any electrical components. Hopefully this information has been helpful. -Matt

The instrument panel flickers constantly both for the clock and for the oven settings

The Display is shorting out, bad news is it is part of the ERC (Electronic Range Control) Pricy to replace, go to with your model Number and you can order the part, not hard to replace

The panel where you turn on the oven does not work. it wont come on at all so we cannot use the oven

First reset the breaker to reset the stove. Sometimes that will work since the oven does seem to be newer. If not the clock control sounds like it is shot. It is a very easy a repair to do yourself. Here is a link for the breakdown of your unit, And the clock at about 50.00 off retail from anyone else:

Same issue, oven will not turn on

My igniter was bad. swapped it with the one from the boiler and works fine. Even if it is glowing it still might be bad, they have to draw enough current to open the gas valve. when they get weak they still can glow red but wont draw the required current, in my case I believe it should have been 3.2 amps. Oh well wife is happy so I am happy and I found the part for $33.95.
