Question about HP Officejet 6500 Wireless All-in-One InkJet Printer
I just installed an HP Office Jet 6500 on Windows XP Home. I originally installed the wireless driver, but there were fatal errors. So I uninstalled all drivers using the option on the install CD to uninstall. Then I reinstalled the drivers, but this time selected "wired (USB) install." Everything installed fine this time, but 2 times during the install process, the self-installer said I have to restart my computer to delete files. I did and saw the install through to completion. Problem is that since then, every time I restart my computer, the BIOS screen lasts about 5 minutes. It used to be only 5 seconds. Anybody know an easy way to fix this?
P.S. what's the point of buying a wireless printer if it ends up being MORE of a hassle trying to get it to work wirelessly :-)
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

if printing from 2 other computer works fine, will i think its not an issue of IP address which changes somehow. but anyways, try to check if you still have other printer drivers under "PRINTERS" (see control panel). it should say HP Photosmart c6100 series. If you also have there a printer icon that says HP Photosmart c6100 series Copy1, try using it (right click on that icon and choose Set as Default Printer). If you only have HP Photosmart c6100 series under PRINTERS, try to right click, then choose properties. When Properties box is open, click on PORTS tab. then click on configure ports below. Try to type in the IP address of the printer under "Printer Name or Host name or IP address". make sure that you already printed network configuration page to get the exact ip address of the printer, Dont know how to print? do this.
PRINTING NETWORK CONFIGURATION PAGE
1. press setup, then scroll down and look for Network.
2. press okay on network, it will give you the first option "VIew network settings".
3. press okay on it, and it will give you the first option "Print network configuration page."
4. choose that and press okay. it will print the network config page. from this document, you will be able to see the IP address of the printer.
Please let me know if the issue is still not resolve so that i can go ahead and give you another possible solution.
Thank you so much.

I am trying to scan, but when I press the scan button it states "No scan options. Refer to device doc to troubleshoot". However, I can't find my device doc. I am assuming there is an easy fix?
