Either you have a dirty air filter causing a restriction of air flow and lets hope that is the problem. Or the worst case would be low on freon. Which means you have a leak and need to get that fixed cause you can harm your compressor if it runs out of freon. Ck filter and install a clean one then let the a-coil defrost cause it is a block of ice now could take as long a 6 hours if not 8 hours.

Why is my subzero refrigerator (model 550 o/u) leaking?

Frost build up in that area is common, it is where the compressed gas leaves the compressor on its way to the evaporator inside the unit. The putty is put there on purpose during manufacture to insulate. Things aren't helped if you have a moist warm kitchen as the air condenses at that spot and freezes. If the fridge is in reasonable condition elsewhere and you don't wish to buy another there are a few things you can do. The area with the frost can be fixed with a can of expandable foam, or foam insulation cut to size to fully cover and insulate that area. Any condensation of the back can be fixed by covering with thin polystyrene sheet which comes in a roll. cut to size and stick with contact adhesive in blobs.

Your icemaker won't make any difference to the problem. Don't forget the water supply hose should be changed every 10 years.

If you do decide to change, one benefit is cheaper running costs. Improvements are being made all the time. Having said that, SubZero are a premium make.

Frozen water dispenser

Take a small hand cloth or a 6-inch by 6-inch cloth and wrap it around the water line where it freezes up. This will help insulate the line. Failing this, do you see frost or ice forming anywhere specifically around the door - if so, the door seal would need to be replaced at a cost dramatically less than US$400.

Clint, the copper refrigerant lines coming off the compressor to the house, generally freeze up because the sealed cell foam insulation is missing or damaged. Replacing it or repairing it, should solve the problem. Allow the lines to thaw completely, before installing or repairing the insulation.

Hope I helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Line to evaporator iced over

I am not exactly sure as to the type of unit you have. If it is a ductless split system (inside unit on the wall, never seen Lennox make one) you could be low on charge, the metering device to drop the refrigerant pressure is in the outdoor unit. If this is a whole house system, you may have a restriction in the outdoor section somewhere. If you look into the unit while it is running, try to find a filterdrier. It is a cylinder soldered into the small line. You can also see exactly where the ice starts, that is where your restriction is. Let me know what you find out.

Defrost it and see if you have lost the insulation aroundthe pipe. If you have you can use expanding spray fome insulation on it. like you use on your house.

Ice maker is not functioning

sounds like a frozen fill tube, easy to check pull out refrig and you see plstic tub running into top of freezer section from behind, sometimes theres a connector fitting half way up the tube, if not you have to cut tubing and install a coupling to repair cut(available at any harware store)after cutiin tube try blowin throughin to freezer, if you cant its frozen,un freezing somtimes challange, sometimes able to blow straight though the ice other timesi se hair dryer (from iside freezer where fills the ice maker itself. best way ive found is using my steam machine i bought from one of the infomercial.good luck!!!
