I have a 7550 and my foot control has intermittent problems - sometimes just goes "dead" but comes back to life eventually. I read somewhere that there is a spring inside the foot control that can come adrift - since your control is not working anyway, you've got nothing to lose if you open it up and have a look. Do take care when removing the cover that you don't disturb the "status quo" so you can see if everything looks in place - nothing running around loose in there. I have not done this with mine since it is still working more-or-less and don't want to tempt fate. Good luck!
P.S. Did you try to Google for an answer? You might turn up something useful that way.

Make sure you lower the presser foot before continuing the operation.

The foot controller was pressed (or the start/stop button

was pressed if the foot controller is not connected)

and the reverse/reinforcement stitch button
was pressed while the presser foot was raised.

Foot control does not work

Does it work by pushing the Start/Stop button. If so the problem is probably with the foot control. Make sure all connections are secure. You may need a new foot control. Contact your local Viking Dealer and try one of their foot controls to determine if it is indeed the foot control or something else. You can find your nearest authorized Viking Dealer from the Viking website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us Click on Locate a Dealer for your local dealers.

Where can I buy a replacement foot controller and power cord for my singer confidence 7463?

Years ago, my second Singer [760] foot control "went", out of warranty. Singer weren't very good with parts for older models, and the sewing machine guy had to find another foot control and I had to do a lot of rewiring.

Anyway, if you go Online and look for your local Singer stockist, the part number should be there.

I can't start to sew on my 830. The foot control is recognized(the start/stop button light goes off when I press the foot control), but does not make the presser foot come down. It worked 15 minutes ago...

If you lower the pressure foot before you press the foot control does it sew then? If so, then some how in your setting menu you auto pressure foot setting has gotten turned off.

After sewing a long time my sewing machine will not stop when I lift my foot from the foot control.

Two things: make sure the foot control hasn't slipped under a ledge or cupboard and it can't raise itself to the complete "off" position (ask me how I know about this one LOL!); and does the Off button work to stop the machine? If the first, then your problem is solved already. If the second and the button on the machine does work as it is supposed to, disconnect the foot control and just use the On/Off button. It works for regular sewing as well as embroidery. Takes a bit of getting used to, but it will keep you sewing until you can get the foot control to a repair shop.

Begins to engage at first at a slow speed then stops engaging. the motor sounds like it is running, but the needle is not moving.

What seems like motor running isn't so. The motor is actually stopping and the sound u get is from the winding. You should immediately raise yr foot from the foot pedal and stop supply to motor. Other wise you run the risk of loosing yr motor.

Your problem is due to something getting jammed in yr bobbin compartment.

Clean shuttle race and shuttle race free of lint regularly to avoid this.

I pulled out the lubricating strip under the bobbin

Bobbin Winding 1 Put spool of thread on spool pin. ] Use spool cushion when using cross wound thread. ] Use spool cap when using parallelwound thread. 2 Lift thread guide bar all the way up, and run thread through triangular thread guide as shown in drawing. 3Run thread through bobbin winding thread guide as shown in drawing. 4 Run thread through top thread notch 1, and align bottom thread notch 2 with guide pin on bobbin winder shaft. 5 Press bobbin stop up against empty bobbin. If the bobbin stop does not slide easily between the top and bottom of the bobbin, check that the bobbin is seated properly with the guide pin (4) inserted into the lower notch 6 While holding the end of the thread, step on the foot controller for a few seconds. Once enough thread has wound itself around the bobbin to hold itself in place, release the foot controller and trim the excess thread. 7 Stop winding when bobbin Begin
8 Manually move bobbin stop back to original position. 9 Cut thread and remove bobbin.

bobbin insertion 1 Lift slide plate (and open bobbin door). 2 Put bobbin into the bobbin case. ] Run thread through thread notch and under latch spring, so that a length of about 10 cm is exposed. ] Use a bobbin case with an idling prevention spring. 3 Pull the latch lever of the bobbin case out and push the bobbin case into the shuttle race and release the latch lever. ] If the latch lever is not all the way on the hook, it may fly off during sewing and cause lower thread breakage. 4 Lower slide plate and close bobbin door, following numbers 1 2 above in order. 6 While holding the end of the thread, step on the foot controller for a few seconds. Once enough thread has wound itself around the bobbin to hold itself in place, release the foot controller and trim the excess thread. 7 Stop winding when bobbin is full. Take foot off foot controller. * Place the thread end so that it does not protrude from the bobbin. Bobbin Stop
so this will be ok and no need to worry about this
