Question about Panasonic DP-C264 Copier

1 Answer

When printing on 170gsm thin card (fed in via the bypass tray on the side) this printer often has trouble sucking the sheets in. It will do a few, then when it doesn't manage to **** one in (it doesn't try very hard) it complains about misfed paper. None of which makes the printer impossible to use, just frustratingly slow on large print runs. Arrrgh! Anyone found a useful workaround for this?

If you are using the copier out of spec's alot. You may have to have the manual feed roller replaced. Just because it use to do it, it dose not mean it will alway's do it... Sorry, but have the manual feed area serviced.. Good Luck

Go to the printer driver setup screen and choose clear . The paper out sensor will then be bypassed and the printer will pick up the clear sheets.

What is bad duplexer connection?

Hello,
duplexer is the bit that turns the sheet of paper over to enable it to be printed on its other side. Its usually a tray that the sheet is fed into after its been printed on its 1st side, then out of again to effect the flip and print on the sheet's other side. Its probably a 'bolt-on' option to the printer and may not be seated quite right, so not all its connections are making good contact. Careful, though
as there are high voltages present inside the printer....switch it off and disconnect the mains lead before you go investigating the internals!

Printing on an index card

something else you might try is taping the card to a full-size sheet of paper, so the printer can push it through with ALL the rollers at the same time. not all printers have a roller all the way across, so index cards get snagged by one side, and they'll walk to the opposite side while they're printing.

Repeated paper jam in fuser

Fuser's orange roller is not meant to be wrinkled, if this is then I would recommend you replace it (just slides out) pic below
b4eead5.jpg If printing on card, you need to feed via manual bypass and exit from the back, not on the top, aka the "face up tray." Tray pulls out from rear. Rear tray will only stack a few card sheets at once.

Setting on printer's control panel must be set to card/heavy paper type on manual bypass tray

Their may still be some card in fuser causing jams.

Please rate as FIxya or post back,
Cheers
S. :-)
