Question about Computers & Internet
My router model is SMCWBR14-G how do i change my SSID?

Changing the SSID of your wireless network can be done through the web interface of your router or access point. You can access the web interface by going to http://x.x.x.x where "x.x.x.x" is the IP address of your router. Most likely that IP address is 192.168.1.1. This address depends on the brand and model of device you are using, and whether or not it was changed from the default. Once you visit that address is any web browser, it will ask for a username/password (which again I can't tell you without knowing the brand/model). Once that is entered you will be presented with an area to change the SSID.

reset your router back to the default factory settings. This is done by simply holding down the reset button located on the back of the unit for at least 30 seconds. Once the router has been reset, it must be reconfigured. Using your web browser go to URL address http://192.168.1.1. You will then be prompted to login to your router. A log-in screen asking for the password will automatically appear. At this time enter the default password “admin”, in lower case letters into the password field. The username field may be left blank at this time. (Note: both the default username and default password are set to “admin” on some of the newer Linksys router models).

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. .
