Hi. We are trying to setup a phillips tv through a bt vision box please

  1. A TV aerial feed - The BT Vision box gets its digital TV signals over-the-air, so needs a TV aerial. This needs to be connected to the aerial input socket on the V-Box. There is an output RF aerial socket to allow you to connect an aerial feed to a TV if required.
  2. SCART lead - You need to make a connection from the Vision+ box to the TV using a SCART lead. If you have a HD TV set, you can also connect via an HDMI lead (not supplied).
  3. Connection to Broadband - You'll need to connect from the BT Vision+ box to a BT Broadband connection. This is done using the BT Home Hub. The Home Hub is the Broadband router supplied by BT, and it connects into to your phone line to give you Internet access-The most common way to make the connection, is to connect an Ethernet (networking) cable from the BT Vision+ box to one of the Ethernet ports on the Home Hub. If you can't make a direct connecting to the Home Hub, you can use powerline adapters to make the connection. The self-install kit includes two Powerline adapters to allow you to connect to the Home Hub if it's in a different room to the BT Vision+ Box.
  4. The BT Vision v-box has an additional scart socket, which can be connected to a video or dvd recorder.

Just brought a Sony Bravia HX 800 and added a wireless LAN adapter (UWA-BR100) to get Internet TV. After network set up NOT able to access internet. Message reads Wireless device OK Local Access FAILED...

Hi

I got the Bravia KDL-40EX713 and the uwa-br100 I had massive problems getting it to work with a BT home hub. Eventually I found manual setting that work. Firstly I logged on to the router and went the the advanced settings bit, then I went to the DHCP table that shows all the devices connected. I picked an unused Ip address from the range of existing ones being used (this sort of thing 192.168.1.73)

I then used the following settings for the other fields (I don't think the secondary dns setting is right but it still works)

ip 192.168.1.73

sn mask 255.255.255.0

default gateway 192.168.1.254

primary dns 192.168.1.254

secondary dns 192.168.22.23

If the DNS server ip is wrong then you get local access OK but internet access failed.

Hope this helps.

My printer has stopped communicating with our BT home hub It was OK and the security code is correct it just cannot establish a connection. I tried it with the previous Netgear wi fi and it connects just...

you can also change the BT home hub 2.0(black)encryption type to WEP type. all you need to do is follow the steps to change the type of encryption to WEP.

  • connect a computer using the ethernet cable to the hub(its the black cable with yellow leads).
  • open an internet explorer or anyother browser, in the address bar just type 192.168.1.254.
  • you will be getting the BT home hub manager page with please reset your password, asking for three credentials.
  • in the first bar enter the default admin password or the admin password which is found in the wireless card or at the back of the home hub in the label. in the second and third bars enter the password of your own, something like admin1.
  • you will be getting another page coming with four options at the top (home, services, settings and troubleshooting).
  • click on settings, and below troubleshooting in the blue bar itself , you will see advanced settings. click on it.
  • then click on continue to advanced settings, now below home in the blue bar itself, click on wireless.
  • after you do that, you will see two options called as configuration and security. click on security. there you will see the option to change the wireless encryption to WEP.after changing the type to WEP, type the same password again in the section for password and click on apply to save changes.
  • check whether your printer is connecting to your home hub after that,

Iphone 3G-S will not connnect to BT Home Hub 2.0

First, Can your 3GS connect on ant other Wi-Fi? If so the issue is specific to configuration on either iPhone or BT Home Hub.
Second, Does BT Home Hub configured for any kind of mac-address security? Check that, if it does either remove it or add the iphone mac-address, you can find the iphone mac address under network setting.
Third, Does Home Hub have limit on number of devices that can connect to it, some do. check that and make sure that you increase the limit or just remove the restriction altogether.
Fourth, IS BT Home Hub Wep enabled? If so the password/key you are entring on your iPhone must be exactlythe same. Or just remove the wep encryption to see if your iphone 3GS can connect.
Fifth, If your old 3G is able to connect to your BT Home Hub, then just make sure you are not FAT fingering the keys and entering a different key.

Ive got a 40gb ps3 and a bt home hub wireless router how do i connect ps3 to computer ps ps3 is upstairs and pc downstairs

look on the back of your home hub. there should be a Wireless Key in a Grey box. (BT Home Hub wireless settings)

note the wireless key.

go to your ps3. and turn it on log on ect. go to settings and down to network settings (right at bottom).

(Im not sure of the next section because im currently on a network but it should be an option to find network).

anyway you search for networks. should find your home hub.

keep going right untill you have to enter any settings. and write your WEP Key (Not WKA). (wireless key from back of router).

Xbox360 connection

Yes, you are able to connect your 360 using a hardwired connection. In fact, it is even faster that way!

Your BT Home Hub has two ethernet jacks on it, for use with whatever devices you wish to connect to the internet (in this case, your 360). Simply plug your 360's ethernet cable into the jack, and voila! You can now access Live. However, if you wish to host games over live, you may need to open up certain ports for Live to use.

The ports are listed at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908874

A manual for using and setting up your BT Home Hub is at:
http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=16536
Near the bottom of the page is a link for the PDF version of the manual.
