Blue film partly removed

The blue film is supposed to be removed. It is used only to protect the appliance from scratches during shipping. Some consumers mistakenly leave this film on thinking it will make the appliance last longer. Eventually, over years of use, the film becomes difficult to remove and may remove the finish if you try to peel it off. It is not required for the safe use of the microwave oven.

My samsung G2739N microwave does not function. Only the lights on the panel are on when the power is ON. please help

the unit inside the microwave that heats called the "magnetron" has gone bad or the circuits that power the magnetron have failed. if its under warranty still, send it back to the manufacturer. if not you can call some repair shops and see how much it would be to service it, but its most likely going to be cheaper to purchace a new microwave since they are relatively cheap these days. there really is no way to fix yourself unfortunately, unless you are a technician. its bad that they dont make things like microwaves last longer, they use the cheapest parts possible and they dont last long, maybe a few years and they are no good. hope this helps, good luck to you

Microwave still works but no longer heats food

I am assuming that all the heat funtions defrost included do not work.
This can be a few things first you need to open the cover(make sure the unit is unplugged) then on the controll panell side you will find a pc board locate the fuse on the board and test ,reolace if blown ,if this does not solve your problem then look on the base plate there you will see a big block called a transformer one of the wires on this will have (normally)a white tube like piece of plastic open and locate the fuse test and replace in need be,if this still does not solve then you need to check the capacitor a silver unit that the wire with the white fuse box attaches to NOW BE CAREFULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this caries a large electrical load before you remove take a insulated screw driver and short the two points it should give a spark if it does then leave it alone if not replace, last is the maganatron that has blown assuming all the above is working////////// Advise do your reserch it is often cheaper to replace the unit than repairing it.Please ensure that you use insulated tools DO NOT!!! use your bear hands to remove wires or fuses a microwave can give a nasty shock and heart you SAFTY FIRST PLEASE

GE Spacemaker XL14, night lights won't work

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.

Details of our service and critical safety information and disassembly information is at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number) for more information & help.

I have a GE XL 1800 spacesaver. I'm attempting at swapping out the magnetron myself. One day it just stopped heating. Everything else worked fine, but normal sound of microwave was null and void. I...

Please refer to this file first for important safety info: http://www.microwavedisplay.com/safety.txt

You'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover.

The installation instructions are very handy in this case, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here. (like JVM18##xx##)

Once you remove the outer cover, there will be a side panel which will have to be removed.

In general, there will be a lot of screws to remove during this job.
