Click start find my computer and right click and select properties, should come up with system info and a tab at the tob "device manaager" secet device manager and select action -> scan for any hardware changes.

This should reslove the issue. failing that use system restore using restore point before doing factory restore

to do this click start and type in rstrui.exe press enter

I have an Vista running Acer Aspire t180 desktop that i bought in 2008. i would like to restore it to its factory settings but i have misplaced the restore disks and Alt-F10 does not work. My eRecovery was...

Your options are either go to Acer for a replacement Vista recovery DVD or
Install a borrowed Vista DVD, must be same Vista Basic, Home Premium,
then use your registered CD key, normally located on the side or rear of your tower.
It will also tell which Vista type you have. You then must go to the Acer support site
and install then drivers for the componenets in you computer.
You will not have any other software installed that may have come with your
original setup from Acer. This option requires more work on your part, but
no cost to you. Acer will charge for a Recovery DVD, plus S&H.

I must have accidently deleted the driver files to run my Dvd on my computer. Now I cant watch movies, how or where do I get the drivers back?

Please restore the system as per date previously it was working of before deleting date. For restore go to start/All program/Accessories/System store ..

If problem resolved then ok otherwise you have to re-install the driver from your Motherboard CD or from the internet.

I need to down load sound system back into my computer it was accidently erased how do I do that?

If you still have a restoration partition on the hard disk, you could boot to it and restore to factory.
Or, you could try a system restore, if you have restore points made.
Or you can install the restoration CD DVD and restore.

Driver not showing on my computer

Try the following tips;

Install the driver on device manager, if you have accidently uninstalled it.

Can you see the DVD +/- RW on “Disk Management” If yes it should accidently the partition should have been deleted? Please partition it with a volume label (DVD +/- RW) normally drive D.

Or Try a system restore to a previous date when the computer was working fine. Please backup all your current DATA as you may lose them.

My computer will not recognize the DVD I need a driver for it I get a message no disk in drive It is a DVD RW CD RW model @ ts h562 is was made by toshiba samsung crop what do i do.

I have done a web search and can't find much on "ts h562"

I had a similar problem to this a while back where my driver for the dvd had become corrupted some how.

Before you start you might want to create a system restore point. Read the windows help on how to do this. Just in case this does not work or you delete the wrong thing by accident. Also have a quick read how to do a restore.

Go into into Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Device Manager

Find the driver for your DVD drive and delete it. You just highlight it and press the delete key.
It may be under unrecognized devices with a question mark or exclamation mark on it.

Then right click on the machine on the top level run a detect new hardware and it should automatically recreated the device driver from files already on the system.

Good luck and I hope it helps

How do i restore to factory settings?

I have researched Toshiba website. They do not list replacement system DVD/CD there. Did find a listing on Ebay but the item was sold. Checked the manual and there is no information on restoration within it. The result is that I do not see any easy answer for you. You could contact tech support @ Toshiba, generally pay for the call and requrest from them the restoration software. Or you could buy XP CD install the CD and acquire from online the drivers for the computer. Regret that the choices are not better.

Yes. Once we restore the computer is set back to factory settings all the functionalities along with sound and cd/dvd drive will work fine as the software, drivers along with saved data and corrupted files will be deleted and a fresh copy of windows will be installed.

In order to perform a restore back to factory settings follow the steps below:

1. Turn off the computer completely.
2. Make sure the computer is connected to power adapter.
3. Press the power button to turn it back on and at the same time simultaneously keep tapping the ' F11 ' key on the keypad until you see a screen says 'welcome to hp recovery manager ' . you may here few beep sounds during this process. Select ' destructive recovery' option and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.

Note: This process may take an hour to complete and make sure to take a back up of your important data on to a cd or dvd as the process completely deletes all the files on the computer.

Thank you.

Forgotten password

If you want to restore your laptop to factory setting: You should insert your "recovery disk to the CD/DVD ROM. and then shutdown the laptop.

Now; boot your laptop using the recovery disk(boot the laptop from CD/DVD rom) This will no need to input the password: its either you have to restore the system without deleting the existing files or you have to partition and format the hard drive. formatting hard drive you will end up with fresh copy of system files. same as first day when you purchase the laptop.

be sure to install the driver if there's any.

However; if you tend to do by supplying the password. iguess all factory installation has no password. you have to strike the enter without supplying any password.

may this help,
