Question about Flashpoint Bright Beam 300 Watt Continuous Output Quartz Hot Light for Digital Photography

1 Answer

I just bought the Flashpoint Bright Beam 300 watt continuous output and it came with a 300 watt DRA bulb. The bulb is really tiny and it doesn't seem to fit directly into the actual light. Is there another part i still need to get?

No, i have the same light...i just inserted the 2 pronged lightbulb in the middle of the metal plate where there should be a small socket with 2 holes...you have to be carefull with these kinda bulbs...they are easily damaged, prongs being broke from being put in and out...too frequently and ect.

I have 2 hots from 240 raceway and common neutral a 250 watt bulb on 1 hot a 40 watt bulb on other hot cut neutral wire they stay on but 40 watt gets bright the 250 watt goes dim why is that

You change circuit from parallel to series..
In parallel (with neutral connected) each bulb receives full voltage, and then each bulb runs at watt rating.
In series (with neutral cut) the circuit is still complete through the two hots... except the voltage drops after each bulb... which affects the watt output on each bulb.

Just bought 4 new 1000W Super high output HPS bulbs. Only one of them is really bright. The others are about 80% by eye. The brightest one is nearest to the transformer stack but the others don't...

A ballast for a 1000 240 volt fixture will lose a small amount of output over time , but should nt be too noticeable . I suggest you take one of the dimmer bulbs and install it into the fixture that has the brightest bulb in it now . If the new bulb is now the brightest of all , then you know your other ballasts have lost some intensity . I have also seen on some bulbs depending on the gas inside the glass( ex. HPS or Metal Halide) which gives off the different color , will take a while on initial start up , to burn at full intensity . It is also possible that you were given used bulbs which would explain the 20 percent loss in intensity . Good luck

I NEED A REPLACEMENT TIMER (PB912M10).

1.remove timer from power pack. this includes all wiring to timer and switch.
2. buy a timer at Home depot.
3. plug power pack into timer,
4. reattach low voltage output wires to garden lighting system or whatever you use the low voltage for.

this is the second time I had to do this remedy. the timer that comes with the power pack really stinks!

My peugeot 307 '53 reg, has really bad lights when on dip.

the reflectors and/or the lenses are poor. if the lamps look frosted on the lenses? i think they are plastic then they get tiny chips and can reduce the light output. polish them with a mild abrasive like tcut or brasso till they look like glass again other than that you may have a electrical problem

Dim lites at end

You have a bad case of 'voltage drop my friend. Your transformer is probably undersized. Add up your bulbs and you have 234 watts. You're probably using a 200 watt x-former, right? Either lower the bulbs wattage to 11 watts, or get a 300 or 400 watt x-former.

HID low beam headlight replacement for 2003 lexus es300

The HID bulbs are very easy to change, and can be bought online for much less than from the dealer. Check sites like xenondepot and Ebay for Phillips D2R (for reflector headlamps) HID bulbs and you can replace them yourself.
