The lamp is near the end of it's life or it's not getting sufficient voltage. check the lamp for bulges, black spots, fogging or flaking, and replace if necessary. otherwise, you have a ballast issue that will need to be repaired/replaced by nec. they won't sell individual parts.

Hitachi 42" plasma 4 yrs old

I have the 55HDS52 and it flickered like crazy. The firmware was V0101.0001 and I called Circuit City and they sent a tech out with the latest fimware for my TV which is V0102.0001 and now the flicker is gone. I kept my settings all the same and watched the same reference scenes over and over and could not get it to flicker anymore. I'll post if anything changes but it seems that this worked for me. please have a look at THIS very long forum on Hitachi Plasma Noise

After setting through major wind and snow storm ....started car and let warm up it started skipping/fluttering and there was a little screen peices under front of car when i moved it from up around rear of...

rotten eggs is cat gone, flutter is there is a loss in back pressure on the engine, this can happen if the cat gets cooled down to fast ie left on grass or snow. the cat inside will crack and as soon as you start the engine it fires it into the exhaust and damages the exhaust.

2005 mazda 3 wont start. hear a clicking noise, gauges flutter, changed the battery and did not work. What could it be

possibly loose connection from battery to starter?,car has fuse for starting?....etc. Usually when a car's battery is very low and you try to start it,it would have those symptoms (gauges flicker/flutter). If the battery and connections are done properly, have you tried push starting (if standard transmission)it?. Possibly starter stuck on bad part of flywheel?;I'd try to rotate the crankshaft with breaker bar&socket (direction in which the engine would crank or run to avoid loosening the crankshaft bolt!!!) it would loosen the stuck starter/flywheel. Does your car have a starter solenoid or is it built in???

Samsung S27B350 monitor intermittently goes black and has a constant flutter. Could this be a capacitor problem.

I think I have the solution for this. I just purchased a monitor and it immediately began to flicker and then blank the screen. I pulled it apart, but to no avail.
The problem is caused by the computer powering down the monitor, for example a laptop will power down the monitor to save battery life. It is the awakening of the monitor that causes the flickering. Obviously there is a software bug in the firmware that will not allow it to synch properly. The fix is pretty obvious, just stop the computer from powering down the monitor. You can still blank the screen using a screen saver, which is what I have done, but you are not getting the full power saving.
I hope this helps someone else - it drove me crazy for a day or so.

Picture flutters

If this is a projection TV and it shrinks and expands its a common issue with certain Philips TV sets. Sites like www.TvRepairKits.com have the kits to fix this.

The igniter lights the gas in bake mode but will not stay lit flickers on and off

the ignitor is weakening and thusly should be replaced ,the ignotor is required to provide 3.2- 3.6 amps to the gas valve to keep it open and since it(the ignitor) is becoming weak the flame will flutter

After installing windows 7 on my hp dv4 laptop I am getting an intermittent screen blip or flicker. I have a built in ATI radeon hd 3200 graphics card. I have donwloaded new drivers but doesn't seem to...

it sounds to me that you may be having gpu (graphics processing unit) overheat issues when your computer overheats the first thing that happens mostly is the screen my flutter or shake a little you may want to have your laptop cleaned inside out and this will help your problem just make sure that your monitor is not bad because this to will cause the same problem ! i hope this helps!

I've got a 37" LCD made by Vizio. After about twenty min. the screen start to flutter or flicker like a strobe light. Power on the unit stays on while this occures. What cani do to fix this?

I am having the same issue, I think the best solution is to replace the inverter slave and master boards. These are the circuits that controls the backlight and causes the flickering when they are malfuctioning.

Flutterin sound in tv

try turning the bass down and see if this helps the fluttering. If it does help a little most likely it is a blown speaker. Can replace at radioshack for under 20 dollars. It is hard for me to tell since i am not there to diagnose but also can you do a balace to go completely to the right with bass up and see how it sounds. now with bass up turn the balance to go to left speakers. if you hear fluttering from one side that means a speaker or speakers from the side that is fluttering need to be replaced. i hope this helps and good luck fixing this.
