The monitor got very bright for some seconds

The screen got very bright for some seconds once and a while for about a year. Than it died. Can I fix that myself? And would the costs of the parts be worth the trouble.

The picture tube in your monitor has failed, and has damaged other parts in the process. The bright screen was due to high voltage to the tube coming back into areas it shouldn't go.

When this happens, it's time to throw the monitor away and get a new one. The cost of repair (and no, this isn't a repair you could do yourself) would exceed the price of a new flat-screen monitor. It's also unlikely you'd find anyone willing to service this anyway.

Why does My monitor keep going on Auto adjustment every few seconds and the adjust brightness screen also comes on periodically

Hi,
Monitors do that when there is a stuck button you can try pressing the buttons on it and if that does not help it is a card inside that needs to be replaced.

I have the same problem on my ASUS vw190. everybody is talking about capacitors poped. 2 solutions are posted, firstly replacing the capacitors is best, secondly reducing the brightness to 50% solved the problem for me. screen still fluctuates. going to have a look inside. i will be back with more feedback.

Monitor losing brightness

Well it does sound like your monitor is going to die soon. You'll just need to replace it, trying to fix a 7yr old monitor is exactly worth it. Fixing it would be costly so you may as well buy a new one.not sure what you mean by integrated with drive unit. some elaborating would help :D

Negative effect on Bright areas of Monitor/TV

Try demagitizing the moniter. In the monitor's menu it will have a picture of a magnic , select it. Sometimes it is listed as degrous. After selecting this, your screen will seem to spin then settle. If your still have problems, a magnic may have come close to the moniter while it was being stored, and that will ruin the picture.

Tv screen and sound are lost for about 10 seconds.

Can you give me the model number? If this is a projection monitor, it sounds like the ballast for the lamp is dying. Not fatal, but probably in the range of $200 to fix at the local service depot.

Monitor black screen

Your first step in troubleshooting this problem is to plug in another monitor to your computer. If you are having the same problem it is related to your computer. If the second monitor works fine then your original monitor is shot.

Monitor gone dull

there is a key on the keyboard which controls brightness. on mine it is the second key on the right, of the bottom row. it has a small sun on it. Press this key at the same time as the function key (on mine, bottom row, second from the left, blue key marked Fn) - and the monitor will brighten up.

I have a bravo 10.4 montitor

if it's still under warranty, rma it. the website for your product manufacturer is http://www.bravoview.com/
I can't say for sure if it is worth repairing or not, it sounds like either the backlight tube or inverter is going out, if it is not under warranty you can disassemble it and locate the backlight inverter then do a search for the part number. unfortunately without the inverter part number i can't give you an idea of the repair price.

the most common problems i have seen with these units are broken or loose ribbon between monitor and processor, blown backlight ccf (black screen, but can see display using a flashlight), inverter or ccfl dying (dim picture, blotchy brightness, flickering brightness)

hope this helps
