UNPLUG THE DRYER FROM THE POWER SOURCE,

GO TO THE BACK OF THE DRYER
REMOVE THE AIR DUCT FROM THE BACK

USING A 1/4 IN SCREW DRIVER REMOVE THE ITHINK IS 10 OR LESS SCREWS FROM THE BACK PANEL, THE PANEL U ARE REMOVING IS THE LOWER PANEL OF THE DRYER

ONCE U REMOVE THE PANEL, YOU WILL SEE THE PORT WHERE THE AIR COMES OUT OF THE DRYER, THERE IS A PANEL THERE, TAKE THE SCREWS OFF AN U WILL BE INSIDE THE AIR SHOOT, CLEAN IT REMOVE THE OBJECT AN PUT IT BACK TOGETER IS THE SAME WAY

GOOD LUCK I HOPE I WAS ABLE TO HELP YOU!

A clothes pin and piece of paper fell down the lint trap when I was cleaning the screen. How do I reach the pin and paper to get them out?

This may take you awhile to do, but once you get to it you may find a lot more than that down there. You have to remove the back on most all dryers. If the lint trap is on top, there is a metal chute that lint and other objects fall down.Remove the back and you will see what I am talking about.Once this is done, it is fairly easy to remove the collars that go down to the lint hose. You will then be able to clean all of the lint build up down below that gets by the trap.
Good luck, Sincerely, shastalaker7

My wife was cleaning the lint catcher and something fell inside of housing of the catcher. Is there any way to unscrew the dryer to get it out, or are we just out of luck? I don't want to start up this...

You should keep your hand grenades somewhere else! Remove the top (either screws in the back or control housing or push in each front corner with a thin putty knife to release the latches), and remove the screws on the insides of both front corners, then lift up to release the front panel. That should give you access to the blower housing and duct work. Retrieve whatever fell in and vacuum out all lint in the area while it is open. Be sure to wash the lint filter in hot water and detergent to get rid of fabric softener deposits which plug the filter screen. Check the drum bearings (either sliding pads or rollers) for wear. Replace if found to be in bad condition. Also, check the condition of the drum belt and replace it if it is cracked or breaking apart. You will need to access a lower rear panel to remove the belt from the motor and idler wheel. Hope this helps!

Clean Dryer Lint Vent in Kenmore elite HE4

If you wish to clean the interior cabinet of the dryer follow these steps:

1. UNPLUG the dryer. Dangerous voltages are still present even with the dryer turned off.

2. Open the dryer door and remove the lint screen. IMPORTANT: You must remove the lint screen first in order to remove the blower fan housing.

3. Remove the lower toe panel directly below the dryer door by removing the screws under the bottom front edge of the panel. With the screws removed, the panel will drop down, then come off. NOTE: For better access, you can prop the front feet of the dryer up (a 2x4 works well).

4. Loosen the screws on the blower fan housing directly below the drum and remove. There's usually a small clip holding the cover in at the bottom that you may need to pull out to release. NOTE: You may also have to disconnect the auto dry sensor plug (yellow wires with white plug - use a small screwdriver to release the locking tabs) and/or ground wire to accommodate removal of the cover.

You should now have access to the dryer interior and the blower fan squirrel cage motor. Take the time to clean out the blower fan housing cover as well. A long bristle brush made for dryers works well at removing any lint inside the dryer in the hard to reach places, followed by vacuuming.

NOTE: After cleaning, you may experience a slight burning odor. This is normal as lint gets stirred up in the cleaning process and can settle on the heating components. The odor should dissipate after a short period of use.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Foreign object in dryer

If it isn't a Pearl or Diamond, I'd leave it.
It fell down into the blower area which has an affinity for catching stuff (like buttons, wire, shoelaces, etc) this should cause no problem at all.

Someday I'll clean mine too ;-)

Does it matter if its there?

If you dropped it in without opening up anything you should be able to get it out (With a hassle)
