Question about Roper RAX7244KQ Top Load Washer
Our Roper RAX7245 which @ 13 years old won't spin. When I put it on the spin cycle it just clicks with no spinning. Is it worth attempting to repair?
Check the belt to make it has not snapped or is tangled. There may also be some kind of visible obstruction in the way.
Also check: the motor coupler may be broken. Many washers use a small, relatively inexpensive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. You may need to replace it.
If it seems that washer tub doesn't spin freely it may be seized and expensive to fix this would need to be checked by a repair technician.
It is possible also that the transmission is worn if the tub starts to spin and then stops. This is also a repair technician job and could be expensive for a old machine that parts are hard to come by.
REMEMBER to unplug the washer before working on it to avoid injury.
