Click the box under the username and select XXXXXX(This Computer) "XXXXXX" for your computer name. This should log you in locally to the computer. Important to note: You need to have the same username locally as you do on the network. Most are set up this way, but not always. Good Luck!

How to change user ID & domain ID in HP Probook 4530s?which appears when you switch on your laptop..

Start > Control Panel > Search for "System" and click on it > On the left, click on Advanced System Settings > Click the Computer Name tab > Click the Change button > Click the Domain radio button > Add the domain name.

You will need to be a memeber of the domain admin group, on your server, to perform this operation. When you go to log back in, it should have the domain you entered, selected.

Need to change email password

To change an email password you have to log in on the email account ..on the web page of the domain ...first .for exmple ..if it is an msn or hotmail email ..go to msn .com ...and log in ...or to the page of your domain ..
after that ..just look for the my account and under the privacy options ...select mail ...In there you have something called mail options ..or hotmail options or etc..depending on the domain ..and inside this feature you can change the password..
for others is simmilar...the idea is to looc for the account info ..or the options ...
for yahoo is enough to log in the mail ..and click the account info ..under your name scroller or on the upper page ..and it will guide you exactly to the account info page where you can change the password..probably will asc to log in again before doint it as a safety option ..
for others is similar ..the place you need to go is to log on the web page for the domain ...and look for the account info ..or acount options ..

When I try to log into a windows xp laptop i receive the message "The system cannot log you on now because the domain BEDFORD is not available". This is an old laptop that I inherited from a previous job...

This notebook has bees setup to login to a network, possibly it was a work notebook.
To login on the notebook and not the Domain (work network), click on the box below password where the domain name is displayed and then select "This computer" then enter your password.

Can not log in on computer with password it says Domain home not available

You need to logon to the local machine with the administrator account and Try leaving the Domain, (Join Workgroup instead) reboot, and then rejoin the Domain.
This can be done by right clicking 'My Computer' - Properties - Advanced system settings - computer name - change and do the necessary changes there.

There is no room to enter a domain.

Hi,
I'm assuming that the operating system is XP.

Log in to your account as you usually would. Right click on My Computer and select Properties from the list. Click on the Computer Name tab. Where it says "To rename this computer or join a domain" click on change. A new window will pop up so click on Workgroup. In the typing plane if it say's MSHOME, delete that and type WORKGROUP make sure you type it in uppercase (capital letters).
When you've done that click OK.
The computer will tell you that you have to restart the computer for the changes to take effect so please restart the computer.

Once the computer has restarted you can check if the domain has changed to WORKGROUP.

Please post back if you need anymore help.

Regards.

How do i change the configuration from domain to work group

even if you mistakenly joined a domain you can still log in through your existing id and password.
Once your press CTRL+ALT+DEL, you will see a login window with three fields namely: user id, password and Domain.
In the log in screen use the drop-down menu in front of Domain (which shows your new domain- most likey MSHome) and choose 'this computer'. After this, enter your old/existing user id and password and hit enter.
Please proceed to your system settings and change your domain back to Workgroup. Restart PC.

Something or someone has changed the system configuration from a Workgroup to a Domain. If you have no idea how this occurred, you will likely have to re-install Windows

Windows XP Log In screen removal

Hello,
Try removing the machine from the domain first. Right click on my computer, go to Properties, go to the Computer Name tab, and where it says " To rename thic computer or join domain, click Change", click on the Change button.
In the following screen, select Workgroup, give it any name and click OK.
Before you do this, make sure you have an account with admin privileges on the local machine (make sure you know username and password for this account).
