Still can't get my Sylvania Dvd/Vcr to record or play back. I have a Sylvana Tv with just Comcast cable box, I have just basic cable no digital or Satelite hook ups. I'll break down how I have it hookup.
I have the cable cord in the Ant, which is the back of the TV,
I have a yellow which is for video and White which is for Audio plug into the two ports which are in front of the TV.
Then I plug the other yellow and white in the back of the dvd-vcr and by doing that I can watch video tapes and dvd.
Then the back of the Dvd/vcr there's a section thats say's VCR video in and Audio in so I plug in the yellow and white cords then I put the red and white cords in back of the cable box that say's audio and video.
I then tryed to tape something and play it back I get the sound but I get a black picture???
The only thing that's left on the back of the dvd/vcr is Digital Audio( which i don't have) Dvd video out, s-video out and Component video out and there colors are green, blue and red.
I try putting the tv on 3 or 4 but still does not work. Is my tv to old do I need a splitter or something else.
What source have you plugged into the new unit. The antenna/ cable/ sat needs now to be connected to your new set, not the TV...accordianman

Now the TV needs to be on Ch 3 or 4 or "Line/AUX" to play a tape...accordianman

If you do not have "Ant" in and out on the back of your new DVD/VCR set you will not be able to tape programs. The hookup you describe having is incorrect...accordianman
