Did you look up the parts breakdown at Makita.com? They often have wiring diagrams on the parts breakdowns. Just enter the model number in the search window and it should take you to a page that will have a link to the parts breakdown.

you will likely need the heating element, part #3403585 which is #17 in the attached breakdown. or you may need the thermal cut out part # 3977393, which includes part #9 & 15 in the breakdown. hope this helps.

You need to rebuild the carburetor. Go to m-and-d.com then parts diagram then illustrated parts online then parts look up then under select OEM select Homelite then do as instructed. You should find the parts you need and hopefully the parts breakdown for the carb. this will help you in the rebuild. If it does not have the parts breakdown for the carb. find what mfg and model carb. it is then go to that site for breakdown.
