Medion MED MT503 won't start or go through p.o.s.t.

When you say "fan" do you mean case fan or CPU fan? Almost sounds like the CPU fan is inoperative and the system is shutting down on CPU overtemp, then trying to restart.

Play station 3 keeps knocking off every 10 seconds

Depending on how it is shutting off and if there is an error message given or not, it sounds like an issue with the heatsync on either the CPU or GPU which can be fixed (if you know how to take apart a PS3) By reapplying the thermal paste onto the heatsync and overtightening the screws holding them on.

Laptop shuts down a few seconds after starting

My IBM is about the same as yours and did the same thing. It turned out to be a CPU Cooling Fan. When you turn the laptop on, try to look in the air outlet port and see if the fan is turning. Another possibility is lint and dirt around the fan. The unit has a temperature sensor that will shut the machine down on a "Hot CPU" signal.

My Averatec 3200 turns of randomly...

Check the CPU and Fan/Heatsink assembly. I have a pretty good feeling that the CPU is heating up too much and is not being cooled properly. There may be lint or dust clogged in the fan. You can get access to this pretty easy by removing a few screws on the bottom panel that houses the CPU/fan.

My acer 5420 keeps overheating and shutting down

Clean the insides of your Desktop case.

1. make sure all the fans(CASE FANS, POWER SUPPLY FANS AND CPU FANS) are working dust and lint free.
2.remove dust and dirt build up in CPU heat sinks.
3. remove dust and dirt build up in the motherboard, RAM and
expansion slots.
4. remove dust and dirt build up on CD-ROM's, Hard Disk Drives and expansion bays.
5.apply new thermal paste on your CPU.

Laptop shuts off after powered on omnibook 6000 It runs for a few seconds and shuts down .... it that a bad power supply or what?

You might have a broken or dirty CPU fan. The CPU heat sink fan is responsible to cool down your CPU while it is on. If it is broken or stuck(dirty), then your machine will power off automatically preventing CPU damage or worse-case-scenario:FIRE caused by "burnout".

Your CPU heat sink might not be mounted on your LT properly. Also causing overheating; thus shutting down.

Its a laptop right ? Right! Another thing you could try is to unplug the battery, and let it run from AC power only and see if it makes any difference.

PC gets shut down

this means that it is overheating. you can do many things here. 1. take off the CPU cooler, and reapply some heatsync and see if that fixes the problem. 2. buy a larger, or more efficient CPU cooler, newegg.com is a great place to find good parts that are cheap and come with customer reviews already. 3. change the settings in your bios to allow the CPU to become warmer (do not go above 75 degrees) without shutdown or alarm.
