Question about Dell 962 Photo All-In-One InkJet Printer

I have a Dell 926 printer and an Inspiron 1720 laptop. I have had no problems with either until the last couple of days. I have attempted to print from Works a document that I had. All that I get is a blank page. I have plugged, unplugged, clear printing jobs, checked the ink cartridge, etc. I am still getting blank pages. I am able to print from other sources. Any idea what I need to do? Thank you for your help.

Hi,

Might as well you need to download a driver for your printer and try to do a printer test on your printer try to disconnect it to the PC and then power cycle the printer and then try to scan something since its a stand alone it will print just like a photo copier if there is an output or it prints meaning it has something to do with the software if not its with your catridge.

Hi Yes you can try clean.

It can only be I think its the driver software gone wrong if so try restall it again, or the heads need a good clean

Ok it got to be the heads blockage
There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Did you figure this out? You should have a "Dell All-In-One Center" that was installed with the drivers for the printer. Try searching for it by pasting that phrase in the box in your "Start" button. When you locate it, drag the shortcut to your desktop or up in the top of the programs in the Start location. When you click on the Dell All-In-One Center icon, you should find some options for scanning.

Problem with Dell 1720 printer


Hello

You have to check couple things in this case.

Ensure that the printer cover is closed.
  1. Remove the toner cartridge.
  2. Firmly shake it side-to-side and front-to-back several times to redistribute the toner.
  3. Reinsert the toner cartridge, and continue printing.
Repeat this procedure multiple times until the print remains faded. When the print remains faded, replace the toner cartridge.

The imaging drum is approaching full and needs to be replaced. Order a new imaging drum.

It can be the AC power jack on your laptop. Believe me I have an inspiron myself and this problem is a real pain. However you can easily fix it by un-soldering the old jack, re-soldering the new one in. You can find a replacement on e-bay. If you are not good at soldering,I suggest you take professional assistance. Its a very inexpensive repair.

Dell Photo 926 printer scanning problems


Go to Control Panel, then Programs and Features. Uninstall the Dell printer software.

Then, go to Control Panel, then Device Manager. Locate the printer, right click on it, and select uninstall.

Disconnect the printer from your PC.

Go to the Support section of Dell's web site, download the latest driver for your printer.

Restart your PC.

Install the software. Connect your printer when instructed to, or after the software install has completed.

Dell 1720 flashinf replace drum- error.

If you need to reset the counter:

1. Remove drum kit with toner

2. Make sure all print jobs are flushed otherwise whatever has been sent and not printed will come spewing out.

3. Hold down CANCEL Button until all lights flash through.

4. Slide the drum kit and toner properly into the Printer.
