Unplug the stove. Be sure to kill power to the oven because one wire to the element is hot and comes straight off L2 the power cord. You could seriously injure yourself or destroy the new part by leaving the range plugged in while you replace this element. Tip: pull out the bottom drawer and you will be able to see the power cord and receptacle in most cases and you can unplug the stove without having to move it. When you have the power removed you only need to remove 2 screws and gently pull the element towards you have the new element sitting on the oven so you can add a wire to it as you remove it from the old one so you won't loose a wire through the back. That is how I do it.

I have an electric admiral stove I tried changing the two 30amp fuses for oven but it still doesnt work. Would the problem be the heating element and where does one locate the element??

The oven element has probably failed. Im not sure about your Make of oven but the oven elements are either the coil type which are positioned around the oven fan at the rear of the oven or under the oven floor. The connections for either will be at the back of the oven.

If you are not properly trained in repair of microwave oven changing coils etc can fry you. What you are calling a coil is probably the high voltage transformer. Consider taking it to the shop or replacing it.

POSSIBLE PROBLEM WITH THE SWITCH. TAKE MODEL NUMBER TO AN APPLIANCE DEALER. CHANGE OUT SWITCH. best way is to go wire for wire as an oven switch has at least eight wires.

How to change coils on the oven for concept 2 series oven

It depends on which concept 2 you have and if the coils are on the top or bottom.

On the most common model, the bottom coils have to be changed the most often.
To do this, unscrew the supporting bracket. Once this is loose, you should be able to rotate the coils upward. Once the coils are up, you should be able to unplug the element.

Once it's unplugged, reverse the process.

Gas oven not reginiting automatically

Igniter glows, then shuts off without igniting gas - the problem is probably with defective coils (black, located on top of the gas valve). It is recommended to replace all coils (usually two or three) if found defective.

Note: Sometimes the whole gas valve may be defective, thus not letting the gas out. However, this problem is not common.

Electric coils do not work

Check the connections on the back of the oven feeding the elements. If good, follow back to control switch and check everything there.

Maytag glass top stove

Hello, open the oven door and stick your head as if into the oven...look up and you will see screws securing the top. Remove the screws and raise the stovetop. The burners are now visible. All that is required is to unscrew the support for the burner and pull the coil out of the socket. Installation is the reverse of removal.
