Hi, If you can get the serial number from the unit, that will tell me the date the unit was made.
Sincerely,

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Freezer not freezing food

Is it getting cold at all. You may have a gas line leak. If it is 10-12 years old, consider replacing. You can get a new one cheaper than repairing the old and no guarantee of it not having other problems down the road.

Woods Freezer Thermostat

You might try searching on line or perhaps find a local parts supplier who can cross it to something that will work. It may be tough to find one that will work with something that old.

I would not recomend using those ice cubes. Sounds like theres lots of mold or worse growing in your freezer. I would get rid of it. ;(

Old Upright Kenmore Freezer Help , please

If it is a shelve it is made for storage. A sign of imminent death on these old freezers would be its ability NOT to reach a low enough temperature when running. The older systems had heavier metals in the construction including the cooling systems. Some tips on keeping it happy would be to operate it in a place where you would be comfortable to sit for an extended period of time.
