Question about Nakajima AE-740 Typewriter
When I type, only part of the letters print out or it is really faint. It does not help to type on bold. I've changed the ribbon and that does not help. Do I need a new printwheel?
More likely than not the type needs to be properly aligned. If it's out of alignment, it can result in the top or bottom half of the character typing faintly. Basically, the typebar is hitting the platen too high or too low. When it is properly adjusted (by a qualified repairman), it will type properly.
