Question about D-Link AirPlus DI-524 Wireless Router
The router is connected to my modem, when I connect my modem directly to my computer with an ethernet cord to internet works but not when connect to the router. I get a pop- up that says "limited or no connectivity" and cannot connect to any website. I called the D-link helpline and they wanted to charge me to speak to them!
If you're connecting to a cable modem (some other service providers too, but mostly cable), this is usually because the router isn't getting a valid IP address. Most cable modems only work with the connection to the computer originally used to set up the service, and they don't recognize the router as a valid device.
You need to do something called "cloning the MAC address" in your router. The MAC address is a unique address assigned to the network interface in your computer. In the router setup page under WAN settings is where you'll find the clone address function. This copies the MAC address of your computer into the router so that the modem will connect it to the Internet. Once that's done, the computers connected to the router should be able to connect.
D-link's website has an explanation of how to do this on their FAQ page.

For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
If you are still not able to access it then press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router .Then you can access it with above default ip.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Then you can DHCP there enable it then save settings and restart router.
Then set ip get automatic in your LAN proeperty set ip address get automatic.Then it get ip from router then it works.
