Have you connected the red wire to battery and the yellow to the ignition live? so that it won't get power unless the ignition is on.
To test the unit is o.k. connect the yellow and red to the battery and if it works the connection for the yellow wire is wrong and you need to find the ignition live, careful though as there will be one that is live only when you crank the starter and give a high amperage output, also check the fuses are o.k. as the one on the yellow wire is a low amp , 1amp to 3 amp depending on the model.

Radio will not go off

Hi Steve, I'm glad to help! I'm assuming you installed the CD Player and now it stays on. Most CD Players have 2 power wires, sometimes only 1. If your only has one then you have your power wire connected to a wire on the vehicle that stays hot with the key in the off position. Here's what you do to find the wire you need. Take a test light and place it on a fuse in the fuse block, then turn the key off and if the test light turns off thats where you want to connect the power wire for the CD Player. Then when you turn the key off the CD Player will go off also. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Steve.

Radio won't play

There may be differences between the color coding of the adapter wires and the color coding of the vehicle. Check to determine whether the wires were functionally matched, not just matched by color. Check for missing or poor connections

Hello

Check all connections, such as from player to amplifier or receiver and receiver to speaker. Check and clean contacts on RCA jacks and cables and try a different input on the amplifier or receiver.

Clean the lens. Use only a special CD lens cleaner and follow the instructions carefully.

Check the traverse assembly (the metal rod that the laser travels along and the gear that drives it) if CDs aren't recognized or won't play, frequent skipping occurs at random, CDs randomly get stuck in one spot, the player can't find tracks correctly, or cleaning the lens doesn't work. Dust and lint may be interrupting its function.

Have the laser-head assembly checked by a repair person if the traverse assembly seems intact and free of debris.Look for broken plastic parts, such as gears and clips, look for loose or broken internal connections.possibly have gears and belts replaced.

Wiring of a Panasonic CQ-C1001N Car CD Player into a Morris 1000

You can get wiring diagrams on line, do a search using the players full name. Is your morris positive on negative earth? you will have to swap it if it is positive as the player is negative earth only (usually dynamo is +ve and alternators are-ve ) I have changed lots over when dynamos were common, turn the battery round and pull the 2 wires off the dynamo take a wire from the +ve battery terminal  and "wipe it across the 2 terminals on the dynamo, this will make it -ve earth too, re connect the dynamo and off you go

Mp2035 cd player will not turn on.

My hunch is that the fuses blew. When you cut all three at once you shorted the battery to ground and most likely blew out the fuses. Check the fuses and let me know. That is my best guess. Good luck
