Is it true that an HP Deskjet 810C printer can use a USB connection ONLY with Windows 98? Is there no way around that? My computer (Windows XP) only allows for a USB. Can only get it to print in light pink....

Hi Yes you can try clean.

Ok it got to be the heads blockage
There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

I bought a new computer and i need to installed my printer but I lost my cd instalation of HP Deskjet 810 c. What can i do?

You can go to the HP website and download the drivers or many other places offer the link such as places that sell the ink for it provide a link to driver sites. HP only offers Windows 98 USB drivers, but XP and Vista both came with the driver so if you are using Windows 7 you will need one of these or substitute HP 812C.

For XP go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bpd09005&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=58742&sw_lang=&os=228#N404.

For Vista go here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01655752&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=2093&product=58742&sw_lang=

For Windows 7 here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01982041&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=2093&product=58742&sw_lang=#N613

I used the driver for the HP 812C for mine on Windows 7 home 64 bit - works fine. (The 812C also uses the same cartridges)

Installer of hp Deskjet 810C on on my laptop since I could not use my hp deskjet 810C printer

Can you please verify that the drivers that is installed for HP 810C is proper as per the operating system.

EX: if you have Win XP then you need to install the HP 810C driver for Win XP. If you have Vista's driver for that printer then it would not work.

So install the proper driver as per the operating system and everything should work fine.

Thanks

Magenta in tricolor not flowing

unplug printer cables, replug in
take cartridges out, put back in making sure sure nothing is obstructing the ink dispensary on the cartridges and that they're clean
look in the printer where the cartridges go, making sure nothing is blocking the ink
check the rollers to make sure no paper is caught inside the printer
turn on printer and try this
hope this works and good luck

Trying to install HP Deskjet 712c on computer with windows xp

You shouldn't need any software to print to this printer under XP, just let XP find the best or closest match to your printer and install it. It might be a Deskjet 700 or something but it'll work as a printer. The old software was probably for Windows 98.

Need driver CD for HP3740

Hi

The printer doesn't support windows 98. supported systems are:

» Microsoft Windows Vista
» Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)
» Microsoft Windows XP
» Microsoft Windows XP x64
» Microsoft Windows 2000
» Mac OS X
» Mac OS 9
» Linux

Drivers are available at this page below:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=401496&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&submit.y=3&submit.x=8&lang=en&cc=us

Note that there are no drivers for 98 and it won't be simple to get the printer to work with the 98.. I would recommend upgrading to 2000 or windows xp. if your computer is from 1998 it might be better to buy a new computer.

Todays printers don't work with 10 year old computers anymore.

linux would work on the computer for sure, and so would the printer but using linux is quite complex, you would need to get someone to install it for you and make it look as much like windows as possible, its a whole new system..

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse

I have just purchased a Deskjet D1560 ptinter,I am a bit of a novice and have an old computer it is a Windows 98 can I use this printer on this computer and also what kind of USB cable do I need?

Drivers for Win '98 may not be available for this printer. Checked HP's website online manual. Nothing is said about support for Win '98. Options- upgrade your computer to Win XP (you might need some hardware upgrades, RAM, Hard disk etc.). Purchase a new or newer computer. There is the possibility you might be able to use drivers for an older HP Deskjet, such as the DJ694 or DJ8xx series. Drivers are downloadable from HP's website.

USB cable: First, do you have USB connections on your machine? If you don't know what they look like, look online, or a computer store salesperson could show you. It is possible your Win '98 machine doesn't have them-
