Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Thanks for using FixYa. The reason the machine says to remove and check color cartridge is because of the drop counter of the printer. The printer counts the drops that come out of the machine and when it hits certain #, it reminds you to replace the cartridge, even though the cartridge prints fine. To resolve this open the top cover of your printer with power on and then take both of the cartridges out, and close the lid. When it asks you to insert the color cartridge, do it. Then close the lid and the LCD display will ask to press 1 for new or 2 for used, press 1. Now do the same with the black cartridge. When you press 1, it actually "fools" the machine into thinking it has a new cartridge. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

This problem is caused by incorrect alignment page print out caused by faulty cartridges, ideal fix is replacement of all ink carts
HP have a webpage dedicated to this...h10025.www1.hp.com
Also get on your gloves get out your vac and suck on the carts till a little ink comes out, make sure colour cart releases all 3 colours then reinstall, can get messy.
