Hi
Connect the white, red and yellow plugs on a set of composite cables to the color-matching audio and video out jacks on the cable box. If the jacks are not color-coded, attach the white plug to the left audio channel and the red plug to the right, then insert the yellow plug in the video jack.
Insert the other ends of the cable into a free set of AV inputs on the amplifier, using the same color codes to match plugs to jacks.
Plug a second set of composite cables into the AV OUTPUT jack on the amplifier. If the amp has more than one set of outputs, make a note of which input will be used.
Connect the other ends to a set of AV inputs on the back of the TV. Most TV sets are equipped with at least three sets of inputs for connecting components.
Dial the selector knob on the amp or use the remote control to choose the set of jacks connecting the cable box and adjust the volume to the desired level.

Are you using another remote for the guide? Like the cable box remote? If that is the case then the remote could be sending a signal to the cable box that is the same as the signal used to adjust the volume on the television.

Volume control does not work using the TV's remote, the cable remote or the actual volume control button on the front of the set - the volume that comes out of the TV's speakers is constant - about 33% of...

SO YOU JUST GOT A NEW TV ...BUT...THE VOLUME CONTROL IS NOT WORKING FROM YOUR CABLE BOX.

EASY! BRING UP THE IMAGE OF YOUR REMOTE FOR
YOUR CABLE (MORE THAN LIKELY, IT'S A UNIVERSAL).

CLICK ON THE REMOTE FOR INSTRUCTIONS FOR VOLUME LOCK.

IF IT'S A UNIVERSAL REMOTE, CLICK SETUP (TWO BLINKING LIGHTS) TYPE 993, AND HIT CABLE BUTTON.

VOILA! YOU CAN NOW CONTROL VOLUME FROM YOUR CABLE REMOTE!

I purchased wireless speakers and want to know how I hook them up so I can control the volume with the remote

Go to on screen audio setup, turn off the internal TV speakers to OFF, set the audio output to 'VARIABLE' (the audio line out signal at the TV RCA JACKS (RED & WHITE) will be controlled by the TV remote), connect a set of RCA cable from the TV AUDIO LINE OUT to the audio input of the wireless speaker transmittere box and set the volume on the wireless to about 1/2 way, you can change this later. Try it and see.

I have BOSE speakers plugged into a small lcd tv. when the tv is off, I'm still hearing cable audio. why? i'll clarify. my tv has rca jacks connecting it to a couple of small bose speakers. sounds...

Your TV output is a pass-thru from the coax cable then. The only solution- turn the volume down, or unplug them.. Or get a cable box. A VCR may work as a temporary cable box, and if you have a remote for it, you should be able to just turn off the audio at any time with a VCR remote. (unless the VCR also has a pass-thru only audio output)

Surround sound

your tv might have aux out on the back, I would use that first.
IF NOT, then you will need to use the cable box.  Insert the red and white plugs at the other end of  this cable into the AUDIO IN TV or cable box connectors on the
media center.
Be sure to match red to red and white to white.
3. Use your TV remote control to turn the TV speakers
down to minimum volume.
This prevents the echo effect of audio playing
through both the TV speakers and your 3•2•1®
system speakers.

Connecting samsung home theater to samsung lcd tv and direct tv

Need to get more granular on this, Does the volume work HT remote, for like radio, cd, ipod audio? For you to use the tv audio through the HTB the tv's audio settings should be on the "fixed" output option. This gives a line level to the Amp independant of the tvs volume adhjustment. Otherwise you will need to adjust tvs volume 75% or so before the audio amp will reproduce a good volume. Turn down audio amp prior to making any adjustments. Let me know thx

Vizio speakers make a buzzing noise

It's not the speakers. I usually hear of this problem when hooked up to an HD cable box. You can adjust the volume on the cable box and also on the TV. I'll bet you don't have this problem when watching a DVD.

If the problem is what I think it is, your HD Cable box is set at a really low volume while your TV is set to a rather high volume. Try setting the TV volume to around one-third, then set the volume on the cable box until it's as loud as you'd ever want to hear it. With the TV at such a high volume, you're actually amplifying any stray electronic signals that the wires might be picking up, and the above solution will fix that.

Good Luck.

Zenith system 3 tv will not turn on

I'd say just get a stereo system (amplifier) or something like that, and hook your cable box, vcr, converter or whatever you have right into that. That's what I've been doing for years. Most cable boxes and satellite boxes will control the main volume that goes to the sound output, or you can get a digital stereo with a remote to control the volume that way.
