My cable light dont blink

Turn off your modem (unplug it from the wall or surge protector).

Once you have done this, wait for at least ten seconds, if not one full minute. (This allows the modem to reset itself)

Plug the modem back into the wall or surge protector.

The modem will begin its start-up sequence and finally it should respond with a "blinking" connectivity light.

If you have a wireless or wired router connected to your modem you must make certain that you follow the next steps, or the router may not work to provide you with an Internet connection.

1. Unplug the Modem.
2. Unplug the Router.
3. Wait for one full minute.
4. Plug the Modem back in to the wall or surge protector.
5 Wait for the modem to complete its start-up sequence.
6. Plug in the router. (if you plugged in the router the same time you plugged in your modem, start at step #1 and try again...)
7. Wait for the router to finish its start-up sequence.
8. Test the connectivity to the Internet.

If this does not work, please add some clarification as to what service provider you are using, the type of modem/brand, and if you have a router...

Cant connect to laptop

Unplug power to both modem and router (leave unplugged)
Shutdown your computer and take the battery out (wait about 3 minutes before putting battery in)
Turn on computer open BIOS and reset to default settings, exit saving changes
Let the computer restart and boot up normally
Log back into Windows
Plug back in your modem and then your router
Wait about 2 minutes for everything to start working correctly
Try connecting again

If that does not work
Go to start and type in CMD
Run CMD as and admin
Type in ipcongi/flushdns and press enter
Then type in ipconfig /release and press enter
Then type in ipconfig /renew and press enter
Close out of the command prompt
Wait about 30 seconds so your router can assign an IP address to your system via DHPC
Try connecting again

If both above fail
Try updating your drivers for your network card and chip set

Where can I look at a manual for a Swintex 2410 typewriter?

I needed the manual for the Swintec 2410, TOO! I found an add on eBay that happen to show a photo of the metal MODEL label on the typewriter. It listed an additional Model number that led me to the: Nakajima Typewriter AX 150. Seems to be the same machine / model of typewriter with manual online! Manual for that at: http://www.nadist.com/WPT150_Operation_Manual.pdf

Swintec 2600 - turn it on, it doesn't respond.

Check to see if there is a key stuck down, if not you probably need a tech.

Try spraying some WD40 on the silver shaft the carrier rides in and move it back and forth by hand with the power off.

Swintec typewriter-7040

Be sure that the ribbon L/O and P/W are properly installed, move the slide switches back and forth a few times, check that no keys are stuck down, With the machine off see if the carrier will move back and forth. If not a littlt WD40 on the silver shaft it slides on will help.

Good luck

2410 Malunction

This problem always hits after a power interruption. On another site I read the solution is to open the back and roll or move the paper wheels back and forth a few times. This worked for me.

If the typewriter is typing letters or symbols that you do not type, it is usually because the Pitch Selector is set to "PS". The pitch selector is on the left hand side and has the numbers 10,12, 15 and PS. Place the selector on 10 or 12 and you will be OK.
Also, check to make sure your printwheel is installed properly. Remove it and put it back in to make sure.

Another thing you can try is to clear the memory. To do this, turn off the machine. Place a piece of paper in the machine sideways. Hold down the MAR REL key and while holding it down, turn on the machine. Wait 2 seconds, then let go of the key. The typewriter will start typing. Shut the machine off after about 15 seconds. Then turn it on as usual. This will clear the typewriter's memory and unexpected charaters should not happen anymore.
