Question about Computers & Internet

I have a Grandstream HT-386 VOIP adapter which I hook up to my router. I'm using Cablevision for my Internet service and Galaxyvoice for my VOIP service. The problem I have is after each reboot of my adapter incoming calls only work for like 10 minutes and then they'll all go to voice mail automatically. There're no issue with outgoing calls. Funny thing is after I make an outgoing call the incoming calls will work again but stop after 10 minutes or so. I've set up my router to open up ports (port forwarding) on my adapter already. What could be the problem?

This adapter has the latest firmware but the manufacturer has discontinued this model already. If no solution is available I do have a HT-486 which is similar but have one WAN port in addition to the Lan port. I have a big problem setting this up. Anyone out there knows how to configure the adapter? Should I connect the Lan or Wan port to my router?

The problem here with the VOIP port is not an issue because the incoming and out going calls are working and it seems that the main reason why you have the problem is because with your VOIP adapter and its also not a settings problem. The Grandstream HT-386 VOIP adapter firmware is the problem here since its having a intermittent on incoming calls , so the best way to correct it is to do a firmware update on the unit and usually the firmware of it will be given to you by your VOIP provider or the manufacturer.

For that one you should use the LAN port to connect to your router and just put the same VOIP settings from the other VOIP adapter.

I have comcast cisco cable that is working fine but when I hook up vonage I get no internet why?

More than likely you need to enable split tunneling on vpn settings in router. If Vonage uses a vpn tunnel like other VOIP services do, then it is probably encrypting all traffic on your Internet/WAN interface. With split tunneling enabled it will only encrypt traffic to and from Vonage. I'm making a few assumptions here, but it should be worth a check.

How to reset your VOIP modem

If you are having trouble connecting to the internet, please try these steps.

1.Unplug the power to your modem. This is the box from your cable or DSL provider.

2.Unplug the power to your VOIP phone adapter. If you don't have one skip this step.

3.Unplug the power to your router. How to use VOIP Phone number in Philippines

US VOIP phone number can be used in the Philippines. For example, If you're Vonage subscriber (I used to), you can hook your phone adapter (basically a router pre-configured to work with Vonage) to your DSL/Cable modem.

You can make/receive phone calls to/from the US, depending on your subscription type. Usually, there are unlimited call plans. All you need is a high speed internet connection.

Your router is likely configured to not "Broadcast" its SSID name. You need to reconfigure the router to broadcast the SSID.

I'm not one hundred percent sure on this, but it does look like you need a separate phone line since VOIP revolves around using your internet as a gateway for making phone calls. And since majority of VOIP uses ethernet connections, or wireless, there is no phone line to use.

Have system for voip. Only can't hook up the

Try getting a router that has one in/4 out between modem n voip. Your voip unit should have an RJ45 connector to connect to router, not your computer. The USB connector might be to connect the voip to a different type of router, and will not be used. The 2 phone connectors are for two different phone lines that your voip provider can provide you with.

Connect my phone adapter

You need to register/subscribe to a VOIP provider first like Vonage and the likes. Then you need to register through your VOIP provider the phone ports of your router. ISP is different from VOIP.
