DD603I with custom front panels... leaking rinse agent dispenser
DD603I has leaking rinse agent dispenser. This is the model where you use your own wood panels on the front and attach the little control panel to the wood. Took the front off and found that the rinse agent container is cracked. In addition we have been getting codes intermittently. I had Sears come out and give an estimate which was $466.04. The parts needed were
1 Kit Dispen at $91.11 1 Sub controll at $188.98. 1 Bung assy at $4.71.
This isn't brain surgery. If I had a parts list I could replace these items. Where can I buy parts?

If the dispenser is leaking, it's probably because of a faulty cap, or faulty or missing seal in the cap. And if you can't add any rinse-aid to the resevoir, It's probably full of water (which leaked in through the same faulty seal).
There is a lot of info missing like brand and model, but it a general way they all work the same. A preset amount is dispensed in the last rinse cycle by an electric circuit. Sense this appears to leak the entire amount the valve/ opening is not shutting. A repairman would just replace the rinse aid dispenser assembly. They are hard to clean because the are a molded/sealed assembly.
If you are handy you could take the front panel aprt and see if the tube that connects to the selonoid to dispense at the proper time is plugged with crystallized chemical or it could be broke and just leaking out the door and into the bottom of the dishwasher.
Too much rinse agent. If you are using powder or gel, set pointer knob on rinse agent dispenser to a lower setting. If you were using the tablets, they have rinse agent built into them, and the additional rinse agent from the dispenser equals a double dose, so the film shows up. Stop using tablets until liquid rinse agent dispenser is empty.
Replace the Dispenser,This is not a problem you let continue! There is a risk of electrical short that can occur .And can cause fire.Take the inside front door panel off.Remove rinse Aid container and replace it.
Without the manufacturer and model number, it is very hard to help much. If this dishwasher is several years old, this may be the beginning of many, many problems so you may want to consider replacing the entire dishwasher.
It you want to attempt a repair, you start with removing the door panel screws around and near the door gasket. When you get it open, take some pictures of what you see. Closeups to hep you reassemble.
Zero in on the rinse agent dispenser reservoir and look for leaks. Identify what has failed and order either locally or on line.
The only "fast" way is to remove the dispenser completely and rinse with warm water until clean! (by removing front panel and then disconnecting jumpers and clips...can be tricky to do alone, as you need 3 hands to pry clips from dispenser to remove from door!)
